The results of the "Best of Director Tetsuro Araki" popularity contest are announced!　Marching Giants" falls just short of the spring anime "Kabaneri of the Iron Castle

In commemoration of theTV anime "Kabaneri of the Iron Castle" starting inApril, "Anipota," an anime portal operated by Akiba Research Institute,held the "Best of Tetsuro Araki," a popularity vote project targeting works directed by Tetsuro Araki. Here are the results.

The winner of the close race was the new work "Kabaneri of the Iron Castle. This steampunk action film is set in the island nation of Japan, where steam engines have developed, and depicts boys and girls boarding the armored steam locomotive "Ko-Tetsu-Jo" to fight against the "Kabaneri," living corpses with hearts of steel. This original anime produced by WIT STUDIO, which has had a string of hits with "Shinkage no Kyojin," "Onikan no Ryoutetsu" and "Seraph of the End," got off to a good start thanks to its powerful action and rich, well-paced story.

No. 2 "Shinkage no Kyojin" is a big title that no longer needs explanation. The first TV anime season was broadcast from April to September 2013 and gained explosive popularity, followed by the release of a movie version and a live-action film version. Because of its unique content depicting a harsh battle between humans and man-eating Titans, there were initially concerns about the action expressions and depiction of Titans, but it was completed to the point of wowing fans, and Director Araki became a well-known figure. The epic storyline and realistic battles are similar to those of "Kabaneri of the Iron Castle," and the result is a testament to the appeal of Araki's works.
