TV animation "Chobito Zukan" to be broadcast!　Spin-out of the hit picture book "Kobito Zukan" which has sold over 2.7 million copies

TV animation "Chobito Zukan" has been announced.



The hit picture book series "Kobito Zukan" has sold more than 2.7 million copies. The series depicts "Kobito," a mysterious creature that is neither insect, plant, nor human. This year marks 10 years since the publication of the first picture book, and a TV animation adaptation has finally been decided. As "Chobito Zukan," the surrealistic story will unfold while inheriting the world view of "Kobito Zukan" only "a little bit.

The staff consists of Nabatatototaka, the author of "Kobito Zukan," as character designer, Jun Kanzaki as director, Motokazu Adachi, popular TV writer and producer of "Neko no Dayan" as scriptwriter, and Kachidoki Studio, the production company behind "Neko no Dayan. The main character, Kakure Momojiri, is played by Sumi Shimamoto, and the theme song is sung by TEMPURA KIDZ, a new generation Harajuku-style dance and vocal unit.
