Gen Urobuchi's new project is a martial arts fantasy puppet show!　Japan-Taiwan joint video project "Thunderbolt Fantasy: Touri Chien-Yuki" to air in July

A joint Japanese-Taiwanese video work "Thunderbolt Fantasy: Touri Chien-Yuki" will start airing on TV in July.



Thunderbolt Fantasy Tōri Chien-Yuki" is a Japan-Taiwan joint video project by Gen Urobuchi of Nitroplus, creator of many hit movies including "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" and "PSYCHO-PASS: Psycho-Pass," and Taiwanese puppet theater "Hoboken" production company Boltzurou Kokusai Multimedia Co. The "Hotei Gekijo," which has been handed down traditionally since around the 17th century, has pioneered unique visual expressions and special effects, and the fusion of craftsmanship in manipulating puppets in various ways makes it more than a mere puppet show.


The show will be broadcast on TOKYO MX and BS11 from July. The original idea, script, and general supervision are by Gen Urabuchi, character design is by a team of graffiti artists led by Nitroplus (SANTO Shinobu/Gen Satoru/Niθ/Chuohigashiguchi), and weapon design is by Boltokusha and Makoto Ishiwatari (Nitroplus). In addition, figure maker Good Smile Company will participate as an advisor for doll sculpting.

The cast includes Kosuke Toriumi, Junichi Suwabe, Mai Nakahara, Rikiya Koyama, Kenichi Suzumura, Sayaka Ohara, Shuyuki Hiyama, Daisuke Hirakawa, Kazuhiro Yamaji, Tomokazu Seki, Hiroki Yasumoto, Haruka Tomatsu, Toru Okawa and Atsuko Tanaka. In addition, T.M. Revolution, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, will sing the theme song.


＜Story

In the battles that once took place between the forces of the demon world and the human world, "Shinryo Magai" were forged by the humans, and many weapons were used to demonstrate their unrivaled power.
After the war, many of the "divine guidance machetes" have been protected for a long time by the Protectorate, but the most powerful weapon of all, the "Tianjingjian", protected by the Protectorate siblings "Tanhang" and "Tanjie", is now about to fall into the hands of the evil led by the "Scorned Sky Wraith".
On the way to escape from the pursuit of the "Scorned Sky Wreckage", Tan Heng happened to meet both "Butei Raven" and "Yan Fushiki", who helped her out.
The three, guided by a strange coincidence, and with the help of their new, unique friends, set out for the Seven Sins Pagoda, where the Scorned Sky Wraith resides, each with his or her own unique thoughts.
