Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin III: Dawn Uprising", report on the advance screening! General Director Yasuhiko: "With the appearance of Garma, Shia became more like Shia.

A report from the premiere screening of the OVA "Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin III: Dawn Uprising," which will begin screening in theaters on May 21, has arrived.

This is the third chapter of the "Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin" manga series by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, the character designer and animation director for the first Gundam that began broadcasting in 1979. This work is the third chapter of the "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin" anime series, which has sold a total of 10 million copies as a manga work by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, the character designer and animation director of the first Gundam, which began airing in 1979. This time, the story depicts Edwau Mas, who left the Texas Colony and entered the Defense Academy of the Autonomous Republic of Zeon as Char Aznable, deepening his friendship with his classmate Garma, a sergeant in the Zabi family, and the students' armed uprising against the Earth Federation Security Forces to gain independence.

This time, "Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin: Bonfire of the Resolutions - Dawn Uprising Premiere Screening" was held on May 8. Shuichi Ikeda, who plays Char Aznable, and Megumi Ban, who plays Seira Mas, performed a live reading to accompany the special video, and Takumi Ishida, who sang the theme song for the second episode, performed "Kazeyo 0074". After the screening, Ikeda, Ban, Tetsuya Kakihara (Garma Zabi), Tomoaki Maeno (Lino Fernandez), and Yoshikazu Yasuhiko (Gundam General Director) appeared on the talk show and talked about production secrets and their memories of Gundam.

Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, General Director
Thanks to all of you, we have completed the third episode. Thanks to the staff, we were satisfied with the first and second episodes, but I was worried that everyone would think it was not Gundam-like. I think Shia became more like Shia with the appearance of Garma. I would be happy if you agree that the work itself has finally become more like Gundam this time.
I asked Mr. Maeno about this, and he told me that he and Mr. Kakihara were classmates at a vocational school. This is just as in the setting of this work! (laughs)
(Regarding Reno) I took exactly the same idea that screenwriter Sumizawa-san gave me. Since the story is all about the military academy, it tends to be simple, but thanks to Mr. Maeno's performance, the story became mysterious and more substantial.
The other day, we are more than halfway through the original drawings for episode 4, and episode 4 will be even more Gundam-like! Lala and Amuro will appear, and there will be scenes of mobile suits. Please look forward to episode 4.

Shuichi Ikeda
From Edwau Mas to Char Aznable. In "THE ORIGIN," I feel that episode 3 is like an entrance ceremony for Char as well as an event. I am very happy to be here today and I feel very uplifted right now.
In the previous episode 2, I played a young man named Edwau Mas, and after reading Yasuhiko-san's original work, I had the hope to connect Edwau to Shah, so I played from Edwau. But to be honest, I was tired in the second episode...(laughs).
I feel as if spring has finally come to our house with episode 3. 37 years I have played Shia, but I could not get along with Edwah. When we finished the recording of episode 2 and I was reflecting on it, I wondered if I would be allowed to do it again. And after recording Amuro, I was actually allowed to do the recording again. This time, Char has already turned 20 years old, so I thought it was my turn... (laughs).
In this work, Shia says "I", but someday it will be "I". I will make "THE ORIGIN" even more wonderful. Today was the entrance ceremony, but I hope you will stay with us until the graduation ceremony.

Ms. Megumi Ban
I only appeared in one scene as Seira, but as in the previous work, I was sad at the grave, but this time I didn't cry, and I was not moved by my brother's death, which I thought was somewhat Newtype-like, so I played the role.
I was nervous to do a reading in Gundam.... This was the first time I had crossed paths with my brother in this way, and I was honored to be able to pass the baton for the screening.
I enjoyed seeing Char, Garma, and Reno in the third episode, and as a fan, I thought that Char really had feelings for Garma at times. I would also like to see another one year war. Thank you for your continued support.

Tetsuya Kakihara
My name is Tetsuya Kakihara, and I play the role of Garma Zabi, also known as "Boy. I am beyond honored to have been given this wonderful role. I put all my energy and spirit into the role.
When I first auditioned for the role of Garma, I knew that if I was going to play Garma, I wanted to take the role in this direction. And when the decision was actually made, I saw Char Aznable's performance, and I thought I would let the "little" Garma grow up. Seeing Ikeda-san's Char, I hoped to bring Garma to a sad or even heroic ending later on, so I enjoyed every minute of the recording session with Shuichi-san.
I talked with Shuichi-san about how Yasuhiko-san's scenario was created with a solid core, so there was no need to play small tricks. It was only one day of recording, but Mr. Shuichi told me, "You should make 'Kakihara Garma'" (Mr. Ikeda said, "Now is not the time to be gentle"). (Mr. Ikeda said, "You have to be gentle now.") I was scared! (Laughs)
(Laughs.) I am an actor, so there is only so much I can do, but I tried to make the play as memorable as possible for everyone.
It's a tough job, but I'll do my best so that Shuichi will say to me at the end, "Well, Kakki, you were worth killing!

Tomoaki Maeno
Although he is an original character in the anime, he is a character with a third-faced side, insightful enough to see through Shia's vengeance, and loyal to the end. Since it is an original, I thought it would end up like this, but I thought the scene where he gives the mask to Char will go down in history.
Char and Amuro are characters that will live on in your hearts, and I was honored to be able to give Char his mask!

Takumi Ishida
(I was nervous (to perform the song live). When I shook hands with Mr. Ikeda today, I felt that my role was over.
I will also perform at the Gundam Expo on June 12. I would like to make the wind blow again.
