Western Digital's enterprise-oriented, high-durability HDD "WD Gold" goes on sale tomorrow, Friday the 13th.

The lineup includes three models: the 8TB capacity model WD8002FRYZ, the 6TB model WD6002FRYZ, and the 4TB model WD4002FYYZ.

The WD Gold series is designed for enterprise customers who demand high durability and reliability , and features excellent workload performance that can handle up to 550TB of data per year and an MTBF (mean time between failures) of up to 2.5 million hours.

The main specifications are: SATA 6Gbps interface, 7,200RPM speed, 128MB cache capacity, transfer rate of 205MB/s for 8TB model, 226MB/s for 6TB model, 201MB/s for 4TB model, MTBF (mean time between failures) of 2.5 million hours for 8TB model, and 2.5 million hours for 6TB/4TB model. The 6TB/4TB models have a MTBF (mean time between failures) of 2.5 million hours for the 8TB model and 2 million hours for the 6TB/4TB models.
