2016 Sanrio Character Awards, Interim Rankings Announced!　Singan Crimsons takes 7th place and Plasmajica takes 10th place!

The interim rankings have been announced from the "2016 Sanrio Character Awards.



The "Sanrio Character Awards" sponsored by Sanrio Co., Ltd. is a popularity voting project for Sanrio characters. While the first day preliminary results were based only on the number of votes cast on the official website, the interim results this time were based on the votes cast on the official website, "Naderu Vote" on smartphones, the monthly magazine "Ichigo Shinbun", "Chip de Vote" at Sanrio store counters, Rakuten Ichiba, and from Taiwan. Familiar characters such as Hello Kitty and My Melody were particularly popular at Sanrio stores, leading to a jump up from the first day's preliminary results.

Noteworthy was the popular game application "SHOW BY ROCK!" that has been adapted into an animated TV series, "SHOW BY ROCK! of " Singan Crimsons. The band, which attracted a great deal of attention last year when it took second place, was again in seventh place this year in both the first day preliminary results and the interim announcement. Five bands entered this year's contest, with Plasmadica also placing ninth in the preliminary first-day results and tenth in the interim results.
