Two card reader models with USB Type-C connectors are now available from Transcend.

The lineup includes two models: the TS-RDC8K multi-card reader with USB 3.1 Gen 1 support and the TS-RDC2K SD/microSD card reader with OTG support thatcan also be used with Android devices.

The TS-RDC8K and TS-RDC2K card readers use a USB Tyep-C connector, as mentioned above.

The TS-RDC8K isa multi-card reader with USB 3.1 Gen 1 connection that supports SD cards, microSD cards, CF cards, and Memory Stick cards.

The main specifications are as follows: main unit size is 67.6 (W) x 45 (D) x 15.2 (H) mm, weight is 32 g, connection interface is USB 3.1 Gen 1/USB 3.0/USB 2.0, and supported media are SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSDHC (UHS-I), microSDXC (UHS-I), microSDXC (UHS-I), MS (MSXC), and CF (UDMA7).


The TS-RDC2K isan OTG-compatible SD/microSD card reader that can be used with Android devices as well as PCs. It has a USB port (Tyep-A ) on the side of the main unit , which can also be used to connect a keyboard and mouse to an Android device.

The main specifications are as follows: body size is40.8 (W) x 40.8 (D) x 10.4 (H) mm, weight is 17 g, connection interface is USB 2.0, and supported media are SDHC (UHS-I), SDXC (UHS-I), microSDHC (UHS-I), microSDXC (UHS-I).
