WAMUSHU PEDAL" releases a report on the special event! Eight cast members from Sohoku High School took the stage.
A report on a special event from the cycling anime "Yowamushi Pedal" has arrived.
The anime "Yowamushi Pedal" isbased on the manga series byWataru Watanabe,which is serializedin Weekly Shonen Champion.The second season of the TV anime "YAMUSUSHI PEDAL GRANDE ROAD" aired from October 2014 to March 2015, and the first feature film "YAMUSHI PEDAL THE MOVIE" was released in August 2015. YAMUSUME PEDAL THE MOVIE" was also a big hit. The spin-off "YAMUSUME PEDAL SPARE BIKE" was screened in theaters in September 2016, followed by the third season of the TV series, which will start in January 2017.
A report on the "YAMUSUME PEDAL THE MOVIE Special Event EXTRA RIDE" held on May 15 is now available. About 4,300 fans gathered at the Maihama Amphitheater in Chiba for the day and night. A total of eight members of the Sohoku High School cast took the stage: Daiki Yamashita as Sakamichi Onoda, Kosuke Toriumi as Shunsuke Imaizumi, Jun Fukushima as Shokichi Naruko, Hiroki Yasumoto as Mamoru Kinjo, Shotaro Morikubo as Yusuke Makishima, Kentaro Ito as Xun Tadokoro, Daisuke Kishio as Junta Teshima, and Sadaaki Matsuoka as Kazu Aoyagi. As this was the launch event after the Kumamoto Hinokuni Yamanami Race, a competition depicted in the film version of the movie, a set recreating the Sohoku High School Cycling Club's club room appeared on the stage. At the start of the event, the circular stage rotated and the cast members appeared on stage, relaxing and toasting with snacks and drinks. The cast members were greeted with loud cheers and applause as they posed in the same pose as in the visuals drawn for the event.
In addition, there was a reading of "The Night After Kumamoto Race," which depicted the night after the Kumamoto race in "YAMAMUSU PEDAL THE MOVIE" and the launch held at the inn where Sohoku High School stayed, and "Kumamoto Fire Country Yamanami Race Sugoroku," a giant Sugoroku that appeared on the stage, in which the goal is to reach the finish line.
In the last part of the event, the long-awaited new information was announced. A video announcement was shown on the screen, announcing that the third season of the "Yowamushi Pedal" TV anime would begin airing in January 2017. The audience was excited by the new information about the third season, but there was even more new information. Prior to the broadcast of the third season, it was announced that "Weak Pedal SPARE BIKE" would be produced and that a special two-week screening would be held in September 2016! Weak Pedal SPARE BIKE" is a popular spin-off series serialized in "Bessatsu Shonen Champion" by original author Wataru Watanabe, depicting the past stories of the current 3rd year characters. This surprise announcement brought the audience to a roar of excitement, perhaps the loudest of the day.
Finally, Yasumoto-san, who plays Kinjo, the captain of the team, gave a powerful shout of "Let's go, Sohoku! to which everyone in the hall responded with "OH! and a dazzling gold and silver tape was released throughout the venue, bringing the event to an exciting conclusion.
