The new Core i7 series, development code name: Broadwell-E, is LGA2011-v3 compatible.

Broadwell-E" is the successor to"Haswell-E," the LGA2011-v3 compatible Core i7 series released in August 2014, and features the first 10-core model in the consumer CPU lineup.

Differences from the "Haswell-E" include a 22nm to 14nm manufacturing process, DDR4-2400 memory support instead of DDR4 2133, and an increase in maximum cache capacity from 20MB to 25MB.Inaddition,the number of PCI Express 3.0 lanes is 40 for the Core i7-6950X/6900K/6850K and 28 for the Core i7-6800K only.

Supported platforms are the same as before, andLGA2011-v3 compatible motherboards released for"Haswell-E" can also be used by updating the BIOS.

The Core i7-6950X Extreme Edition has 10 cores/20 threads clocked at 3 GHz (up to 3.5 GHz in Turbo), 25 MB cache capacity, and 140 W TDP.

The Core i7-6900K has an operating clock speed of 3.2 GHz (upto 3.5 GHz in Turbo), 10 core/ 20 threads, 25 MB cache capacity, and 140 W TDP.Turbo: up to 3.7GHz) 8 cores/16 threads, 20MB cache, 140W TDP.

The Core i7-6850K features 6 cores/12 threads clocked at 3.6GHz (Turbo: up to 3.8GHz), 15MB cache, 140W TDP.

"Core i7-6800KCore i7-6800K" main specifications are: operating clock: 3.4GHz (Turbo: up to 3.6GHz) 6 cores/12 threads, cache capacity: 15MB, TDP: 140W.
