Dogs also hit anime when they walk. My Hero Academia" - Hero Eggs: Conflicts and Growth of the Heroic Eggs
We want to meet more and more anime that excite our hearts, anime that will cheer us up tomorrow, and anime that we will always love! Our anime writers will introduce you to the hottest anime of the moment, regardless of whether they are new releases or long-term favorites.
My Hero Academia," which started in April, is a school hero anime based on a comic series in Weekly Shonen Jump. The story takes place in a world where humans have acquired supernatural powers called "individuality" and where everyone yearns to be a professional "hero" who can crack down on those who misuse their powers.
The motif of the story is the same as in other works: "Hero is a job" and "school for the supernatural," but it is a work of royal road with elements of effort, friendship, and victory, and it is a popular work that has been waiting for an anime adaptation. The author, a fan of the original work, looks back on the contents of the first season of the anime.
The protagonist is a crybaby who grits his teeth in frustration.
The pattern of a frustrated protagonist who uses his complex as a springboard to climb up from the bottom is somewhat nostalgic. And it ignites the heart with passion.
The main character of the anime "My Hero Academia," Midoriya Izuku, or Deku, is a junior high school student with no personality, a rarity in the world of the anime.
Deku is a rather inflected protagonist. Although he longs to be a hero more than anyone else, he was judged to be impersonal at the age of four and has since been treated as a dropout, believing that his dream of becoming a hero would never come true. Even so, he is an otaku who cannot help collecting and studying knowledge about heroes.
Deku, who had no personality, was given his "One for All" personality by All Might, an immensely popular hero who is a "symbol of peace," and in a very irregular way, he has his own "personality.
The first four episodes took plenty of time to depict how the troubled Izuhisa was recognized by All Might, acquired his individuality, passed the exam, and entered his dream school, Yuuei High School.
The time it took for Deku to get to the starting line of heroism can be said to be an indication of the depth of his complex. The story could not have started without carefully depicting this point.
It was not enough for the characterless Deku to obtain his abilities. The mind is inseparable from the body. He had to show by his actions that he was the right person to receive the ability.
He cried a lot. He cried when he felt frustrated and cried when he was moved by joy.
Because he is the main character, the other characters gradually show their emotions. The honor student, the bright girl, the cool guy, and the committee chairman all have complicated feelings and circumstances. Each of these struggles and growths becomes more and more endearing, which is a characteristic of "My Hero Academia.
The character who appears at the same time as Deku and leaves a strong impression is "Kacchan," Deku's childhood friend Katsuki Bakugou. He has the character of "blasting," and his personality is proud and aggressive. He looks down on Deku, who has no personality, and makes fun of him at every opportunity. Even at Yuuei High School, he cannot tolerate the fact that Izuhisa has gained "individuality" and is now on the same level as him, and he fiercely opposes him with hostility.
The classmates who have just met him agree that he has a bad character. However, his unbreakable mental strength, his excellent fighting sense and physical ability, and his flamboyant and battle-oriented "personality" more than compensate for his bad character.
He is a bully, short-tempered, violent, and irrational, but the fact that he is so straightforward is childlike and, in a sense, refreshing. One of the highlights of the film is to see how (or if) he will change from this hated role he has played up to this point.
A group of unique friends, each with their own problems
One of the charms of this work is the unique hero eggs that appear in the opening scene. There are 20 students, including Deku, from Yuei High School 1-A, who learn and grow together with Deku.
When I first started watching the film, I thought the story was developing more slowly than I had expected, but I was glad to see that the story carefully captures the reactions of each of the characters, who are depicted in the margins of the panels of the original story and might otherwise be overlooked. The charm of such a large number of characters is well balanced within the limited time of the film.
Thanks to this, the viewer is able to grasp a large number of characters at about the same pace as in the original work, which is much slower and less memorable than reading a comic book by eye. In the middle episodes, episodes 5-9, the unique classmates' abilities and personalities were impressively introduced through a variety of episodes.
Of the numerous classmates, the most notable is Todoroki Shoto, who possesses a "half-cold, half-burn" personality. An honor student, one of the recommended entrants, he can freeze with his right hand and burn with his left, as symbolized by his white and red head of hair.
He is a very talented student and one of the best in his class in terms of fighting ability, but he has a conflict with his father due to family problems, and if there is a second season, he will be one of the warp threads in the drama.
Tenya Iida, who became Deku's first friend at Yuuei High School and has an "engine" personality, and Ochako Urakaochako, a youthful girl with a "weightless" personality, also add great flavor to the story.
Iida comes from a family of heroes, his older brother being a famous active hero. He is a hard-headed honor student, but his well-brought-up boyishness is also charming, and his earnestness makes us laugh.
As the story progresses, there is an episode waiting for him that relates to the root of his love for heroes, and I would love to see it in the anime.
Ochako is the heroine of this work. She has a cheerful personality and is fond of Izuhisa. She is confident enough to say, "Deku," a derogatory term given to Deku by Bakugou, "is like 'go for it,' and I kind of like it," she says. Every time he appears, he makes the audience feel at home.
She uses a quite amazing technique that turns anything she touches into weightlessness, but her charm is that she gets "drunk" when she uses her ability too much. She may look like a sweet girl, but she is in fact a strong-willed and severely competitive person. This gap between the two is another attraction.
There are also interesting characters such as the frog girl, Umeyu Asuibuki, who is always calm and carefree and has a "frog" personality, and Minoru Mineta, who is a lecher and has a "mogimogi" personality.
The classmates who aspire to be heroes at Yuuei High School are fun in a manga-like way, with some of them having looks that are far from human. The friendly competition and growth among the aspiring heroes is typical of a school story. Coming-of-age is great!
Stand up to the fear of the enemy (villains)!
It is the big drama at the end of the first school year, from episode 10 onward, that will likely leave viewers with a greater sense of the abilities and personalities of the unique 1-A students.
All Might and other professional heroes are fighting criminals who abuse their supernatural "personalities". They are called "villains," and they are the ones that Deku and his friends will have to fight in the future, but their opportunity comes unexpectedly quickly.
During a class at Yuei High School, an intruder named the "Villain Alliance" comes in and plunges Deku and the other students in 1-A into a crisis. The enemy's goal is to kill All Might, the "symbol of peace" who is currently a teacher at Yuei High School. Confronted with cold-hearted malice, the students are horrified.
How will Deku and his classmates protect themselves and survive in the face of a vicious and malicious adult criminal? A crisis like never before is about to hit.
The climax of "My Hero Academia," which up to this point has been mostly psychological and growth dramas, is still supernatural power action. Expect to see tense battles drawn by BONES, a company that specializes in drawing action scenes with a sense of gravity.
In this work, the coolness of heroes lies in "saving people. In the original work, the word "save" is rendered as "salvation.
In reality, everyone has the opportunity to feel pain when they see news of people suffering hardships from disasters or wars, and feel that they wish they could be of help or save them. What is needed is not just one hero in the world who is absolutely invincible, but a kind and strong hero in the same town who will not miss a crisis and will reach out to help.
Deku, who cries a lot, thinks a lot, works hard and courageously, and is physically moved by people's crisis, may be a life-sized hero that reflects the mood of the current era.
In his monologue in episode 2, Deku says, "This is the story of how I became the best hero I could be. This series will end after 13 episodes, but the story of the heroes' eggs has only just begun. I can't wait to see the rest of the story in anime.
