JOYSOUND Announces First Half of 2016 Karaoke Ranking! OP theme of "Osomatsu-san" makes its first appearance!

Karaoke "JOYSOUND" has announced its karaoke ranking for the first half of 2016.

This ranking was compiled based on the number of songs sung on the "JOYSOUND" and "UGA" series of commercial karaoke machines from EXING Corporation. The tabulation period was from January 1 to May 31, 2016.

The first song of note is Motohiro Hata's "Himawari no Yakusoku," which took first place overall in the 2015 annual ranking. The song is the theme song for the hit movie "STAND BY ME Doraemon," the first 3DCG animation of the "Doraemon" franchise, and again held the top spot in the overall ranking and the top spot in the animation/special effects/games category. The song sung by Urashima Taro, played by actor Kiritani Kenta, in the "Santaro" series of au TV commercials, "Umi no Koe (Voice of the Sea)" took the top spot. The song is in a key and tempo that are relatively easy to sing, so it is likely to continue to be popular in the future.

In the animation/special effects/game category, Aoop's "Hanamaru Pippi wa Yoyoko Dake", the opening theme song for "Osomatsu-san", made its first appearance at No. 6. While familiar royal road songs showed strength,
"Sugar Song and Bitter Step" by UNISON SQUARE GARDEN, the ending theme of "Bloodline" and "Pride Revolution" by CHiCO with HoneyWorks, the opening theme of "Gintama゜" rose rapidly.

Making their first appearances in the VOCALOID category were Denko Hinata's "Tin-Tin Dance" at No. 8 and DECO*27's "Ghost Rules" at No. 13. Both songs were released for distribution in 2016 and have the potential to become new staples.
