TV anime "Time Bokan 24" to start in October! Creative Producer: Akihiro Hino, Mechanical Design: Kunio Okawara

The animated TV series "Time Bokan 24" has been announced.

Time Bokan" is an animated TV series that aired from 1975 to 1976. In addition to the comical storyline in which the main characters fight a trio of bad guys that transcend time and space, the "Mecha-Buton" and other mecha and gags such as "~Da-Petcha" were very popular, and the series was a huge hit with a viewer rating of over 20%. Since then, a number of series such as "Yatterman" and "Zendaman" have been produced, which inherit the elements of nonsense gags, good-punishment yet lovable villains, and sci-fi mecha.

The latest in the "Time Bokan" series, "Time Bokan 24," will be a completely new series that respects the first series broadcast in 1975, while completely renewing the content. The director is Takayuki Inagaki of "Jewelpet Sunshine," series composition by Yoichi Kato of "Yokai Watch," creative producer Akihiro Hino of Level-5, known for "Yokai Watch," mechanical design by Kunio Okawara of the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series, and planning cooperation. The character and mechanical designs are by Level-5, and production will be handled by Yomiuri TV and Tatsunoko Productions.

The producer of the program, Koji Nagai of YTV, said, "Based on Time Bokan, the origin of Yatterman, which was remade in 2008 and became a huge hit, this production is a completely new Time Bokan series, although the name is "Time Bokan" and some mecha from the old series will continue to appear. I am looking forward to seeing this new masterpiece that will leave its mark on history by incorporating the new power of the Heisei era into the hit anime of the Showa era," he said enthusiastically.

Kunio Okawara, a mechanical designer, said, "When I was planning the new "Time Bokan" in 1975, my boss, Mitsuki Nakamura, asked me, 'Are you interested in mecha design for gags? I remember having this conversation: 'I have no experience, so.... Then he asked me to try my hand at designing the Yago-type mecha "Yagomarin," which is stored in the bottom of the main mecha "Mecha-Buton. In fact, "Time Bokan" is the only series for which I have not been in charge of mecha design. I am very happy to be able to participate in the entire series by designing the Akudama side of the mecha for the first time in 41 years.

The series airs every Saturday from 5:30 p.m. on Yomiuri Television and Nippon Television Network Corporation.

Let me explain!
The main character, Tokio, is a first-year junior high school student living in modern-day Tokyo.
One day, he is suddenly appointed as a member of the 24th century organization, the Time-space Administration Bureau, and learns a surprising fact!
In fact, all the history written in textbooks is a lie, and in the past, there is a true history that is much more interesting than the textbooks!
For example, Cleopatra, who was said to be the most beautiful woman of all time, was really a comic duo named Cleo and Patra!
And Momotaro, the friend of justice, was really a man who was more ogre than ogre!
Tokio and his team member Karen set out to find the true history, making full use of the 24 Bokan mecha!
The 24 Bokan mecha can transform, combine, and display amazing and surprising powers depending on the combination!
Standing in the way of Tokio and his friends are the three evils familiar to all of us from the Time Bokan series!
This time they are Bimajo, Tsubuyakki, and Suzukki! Their name is "Akudama"!
They are employed by History Paradise, the world's largest textbook company, to protect history according to the textbooks!
What will be revealed next?
