Youth Baseball Anime "Battery" Adds Souma Saito and More to Cast!　The theme song is also unveiled in the latest commercial.

Theme song information and additional cast members have been announced for the TV anime "Battery," which will start in July.



Battery" is an anime work based on a novel by Atsuko Asano.The original work, a bestseller with a total of 10 million copies in print, isa coming-of-age baseball drama about an arrogant pitcher overflowing with talent and confidence and a catcher who is attracted to him. The TV anime version will be adapted for Fuji Television's "Noitamina" slot, marking the 20th anniversary of the publication of the book.The director and screenplay are by Tomomitsu Mochizuki of "Umi ga Kikoeru," the original character design is by Takako Shimura, a manga artist well known for "Hobo Son," and theanimation character design and chief animation director is by Eiko Kusama of "Hi-Q! The opening theme song "Someday Myself" and the ending theme song "When Spring Comes Tomorrow" by the theme song artist "anderlust" will be unveiled in the latest commercial aired on "noitamina" today, March 16. The additional cast members are: Hideta Morishima as Eiji Nobunishi, a third-year student at Nitta Higashi Junior High who does not seem to be pleased with new member Takumi; Hozumi Gouda as Makoto Tomura, the coach of the Nitta Higashi Junior High baseball team who is feared by the team members; and Soma Saito as Nobuhiro Yoshisada, a first-year student at Nitta Higashi Junior High who is always playful and funny.
