GARO the Movie -DIVINE FLAME-" is the latest anime film from the adult-oriented special effects series "GARO," which has produced a total of five series since 2005, following "GARO -Flame Imprint-" in 2014 and "GARO -Korenetsu-" which aired from October 2015 to March 2016. GARO -Koren no Tsuki-," which aired from October 2015 to March 2016. Directed by Yuichiro Hayashi, script by Yasuko Kobayashi, and produced by MAPPA and Tohoku Shinsha.
A report on the talk show held on June 14 has just arrived. In addition to the appearance of Horiuchi Masao, Nomura Katsuto, Udono Mayu, Hayashi Yuichiro, Kubo Soichiro, sound director, and Kubo Toru, producer, a surprise appearance by Aiba Madoka was also made, and a live audio commentary screening was held.
Director Hayashi, who appeared on stage that day, pointed to his own pocket and said, "I brought Mr. Namikawa.
(?) instead of Daisuke Namikawa, who plays the main character Leon Lewis. A Golden Knight Garo figure peeked out from the director's pocket, eliciting a round of laughter from the audience. Mr. Nomura appeared in a specially ordered jacket modeled after Alfonso's costume in the film, and appeared to be in high spirits! Everyone lined up in the back of the theater to watch the film and commented as they went.
Director Hayashi sometimes revealed the backstory of the characters and the scenario meeting, and also revealed some ideas that unfortunately were not used in the film.
Ms. Horiuchi is happy to see the appearance of Hymena, who gives birth to and raises Roberto after Hermann's death! Looking back on the recording, Ms. Udono said, "I was so happy to play Garm again that I went into the scene in a cheerful mood, but Kubo-san told me that I was too cheerful! I was told by Mr. Kubo that I was too cheerful, so I did it lazily.
Both Nomura and Horiuchi also praised Masato Hagiwara, who voiced Dario Montoya, who was introduced in the movie version, and Arisa Komiya, who played Sara! Mr. Nomura, who attended the recording together, said, "Mr. Hagiwara said it was his first time to play a battle scene, but he was very powerful! Mr. Horiuchi also commented, "You were really into it. It was wonderful! Mr. Horiuchi also praised the actor's expressive ability.
When Hermann appeared on stage, Mr. Nomura said, "I'm so happy. Regarding the battle scene in which Leon and Herman fight together, Director Hayashi said, "Actually, they didn't fight together in the TV series, so I wanted to do it in the movie. I wanted to do it in the movie." Nomura said, "I can really feel that Herman is the one who raised Leon," while watching the scene. In the parent-child dialogue, Leon calls Hermann a "dead man," and Hermann replies, "How can you call your parent a dead man? Horiuchi and Nomura both responded, "I love this line! Both Horiuchi and Nomura said in unison, "I love this line!
After the screening, Ms. Aiba, who played Lala, made a surprise addition to the cast, and the audience burst into laughter when she added her own comical lines to Lala and Leon's. The audience was also surprised by the fact that the audience was able to hear the dialogue of the two characters!
After the screening, everyone went up on stage. Mr. Horiuchi again praised the film, saying, "It's an art form," as everything from the visuals to the sound to the narrative has been meticulously crafted. Although he had already seen the film many times, he revealed, "I was so drawn into the film that I almost cried.
Nomura said, "Every time I see it, I find more scenes I like," and Udono said, "Normally in the theater, I would be like, 'Shhh! but it's fun to see it like this with everyone talking together. Ms. Aiba also commented, "Mr. Horiuchi told me I could play with it, and I really enjoyed it! It was a rare opportunity to enjoy a screening with an audio commentary.
Sound Director Kubo said, "It reminded me of what it was like on the set and in the studio. Producer Kubo said, "I've seen the film more than 30 times, but I still find new things in it. I am reminded once again what an amazing film it is.
During the Q&A session with the audience, ardent fans flooded Director Hayashi with questions about the character settings and other details! Mr. Horiuchi happily responded, "That's good! Director Hayashi also thanked the passionate fans, saying, "Your questions are getting more and more maniacal, and I'm glad to see that you are taking this film seriously.
Asked about his favorite lines and special feelings about the movie version, Nomura replied, "The scene where he thinks about what should be done with the young Roberto's future. Do we raise him to be a magical knight? Or would he be happier with a normal upbringing? That scene made me think. Mr. Udono smiled and said, "It's still the same, lazy and languid! he said, smiling. When Aiba heard that Hermann was back, she said, "I thought that Lara might have a chance, too. I thought Lara might have a chance, but it was a miracle that she was able to appear even in the recollection! I was so happy.
Mr. Horiuchi added, "Herman was a joy just to be able to appear. I was fired up with all the lines, but especially the last line when he leaves--this may really be the end. I said it with the thought that it might be the last line as Hellman for me, too." The audience was filled with emotional applause as he revealed his special passion for the role.
