From CPU to pizza oven! Radiation thermometers that can measure temperatures in places you can't touch are now on sale!
Akiba Koho" is an irregular column introducing PC parts and digital gadgets that the Akiba Research Institute staff found interesting during interviews.
A new model of radiation thermometer, which can measure temperatures in places you can't touch, is now on sale at Toei Radio Radio Department Store. The lineup includes two models: the IR-211, which can measure temperatures from -50 to +500°C, and the IR-210, which can measure temperatures from -50 to +330°C.
Radiation thermometers are thermometers that measure the temperature of an object by measuring the intensity of infrared or visible light emitted from the object. Since temperatures can be measured without contact, it is easy to check the temperature of areas that cannot be touched, such as CPUs and pizza ovens. Furthermore, it is equipped with a laser marker function, making it easy to identify the measurement point.
The main specifications are as follows: Sensor type:infrared sensor. The measurement range is -50 to +500°C (IR-211) / -50 to +330°C (IR-210) with a resolution of 0.1°C.Measurement accuracy is ±2%rdg or ±2°C, whichever is greater (0 to +500°C) and ±4°C (-50 to0°C).Other features: sampling: 1 time/second, emissivity setting: 0.95 fixed, measurement area: 12:1 (e.g., measuring an object of φ8 cm against a distance of 100 cm), measurement wavelength: 8 to 14 μm, operating temperature/humidity: 0 to +50°C, 10 to 95%RH (with no condensation), storage temperature/humidity: -20 to +60 Storage temperature and humidity: -20 to +60°C, 80%RH or less (with no condensation). Power source is one 9V dry cell batterywith a battery life of approximately 12 hours.
The main unit measures 36 x 134 x 88.5 mm and weighs approximately 114 g (including batteries).
As a non-contact type thermometer, it is quite refreshing to be able to measure the temperature of various places, from food that you do not want to make contact with for hygienic reasons to pizza ovens and ovens that you cannot make contact with due to their high temperatures. Why not take a walk and measure the temperature of places you are interested in, or use it for your child's free research during summer vacation?
The IR-211, which can measure temperatures from -50 to +500°C, is priced at 5,980 yen (tax included), while the IR-210, which can measure temperatures from -50 to +330°C, is priced at 4,980 yen (tax included).
