Summer Anime "Mob Psycho 100" to Screen Episode 2 at Anime Expo as World's Fastest Episode!　Masahiko Minami, President of BONES, takes the stage!

A report from the screening held at Anime Expo 2016 has arrived fromthe TV anime "Mob Psycho 100," whichwill start in July.



Mob Psycho 100" is an anime work based on a web manga serialized in Manga One by ONE, known for "One Pan Man". It depicts a clumsy junior high school student who tries to seal off his psychic powers and live a normal life, but ends up encountering a phony psychic, evil spirits, and a mysterious organization. Directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa of "Death Parade," series composition by Koji Seko of "Ajin," character design by Yoshimichi Kameda, animation director of "One Pan Man," music by Kenji Kawai of "Ghost in the Shell," and production by Bones.

The first episode of "Mob Psycho 100" was screened at Anime Expo 2016, the largest anime convention in North America, on July 3, local time, and the world's fastest screening of the second episode was held. Masahiko Minami, president of Bonds, also took the stage, and the packed venue was said to have been a great success. Below is the report.

　On July 3, the third day of Anime Expo 2016, which has been held at the Los Angeles Convention Center since July 1 with more than 100,000 attendees each day, the screening of the first episode and the world premiere of the second episode of "Mob Psycho 100," a remarkable work based on ONE, known for "One Pan Man," was held at the JW Masahiko Minami, representative director of BONES, the production company for this work, took the stage at the event.
　The event was held in a relatively large 800-seat hall at Anime Expo, but the number of people who wanted to see the film far exceeded the venue's capacity, with more than 1,500 people lining up to see the film.
　After greeting the audience, Mr. Minami demonstrated a spoon bending technique, as "Mob Psycho 100" is a work of supernatural power. Anyone who watches "Mob Psycho 100" will be able to bend a spoon! After eliciting laughter from the audience, the first episode was screened.
　The audience cheered loudly when the main character, Mobu, appeared on stage, indicating the high expectations for the show, and as the story progressed, the cheers and laughter grew louder and louder. When the screening of the first episode ended, the audience stood up and applauded and cheered loudly.
The original plan was to announce that only the first episode would be screened, but at this point, Mr. Minami on stage made a surprise remark, "I'm tired from being on stage all morning and don't want to talk too much, so I'll make a special effort to show you the second episode as well.

　The second episode was screened at the fastest time in the world, and the response was as good as the first episode, with laughter everywhere, and the reaction was so positive that Mr. Minami and others involved were all smiles.
　After the screening of the second episode, Mr. Minami answered questions from the audience in a Q&A session, such as "How much input did the original author have in the "Mob Psycho 100" anime? How did you decide on the theme song? How was the theme song chosen? The work itself has attracted a great deal of attention. When asked, "How many episodes will "Mob Psycho 100" consist of?" Mr. Minami answered dreamily, "I can't answer that question yet, but with your support, we can make as many episodes as we want. Mr. Minami said, "I thought "Mob Psycho 100," which depicts my favorite supernatural powers and sweet and sour school life, was interesting from the moment I read the original story. I thought it was interesting from the moment I read the original. but I really wanted to make this work. Please look forward to the broadcast.
