Daisuke Ono and Keiko Suzuki also took the stage! Report on Key's latest work, "planetarian", Preliminary Screening at Planetarium
On Friday, July 1, 2016, an advance screening of Key's latest anime work "planetarian" was held at the Konica Minolta Planetarium "Tenku" in Tokyo Skytree Town.
Planetarian" is a new anime based on the PC game "planetarian: Chiisana hoshino yume," which was released by Key in 2004. It is a multimedia distribution/screening of "planetarian~Hoshi no Hito~", which will be released in theaters on September 3, and finally ending with the theater version of the anime "planetarian~Hoshi no Hito~", which will be released in theaters in September.
Prior to the online distribution of "planetarian~Chiisana hoshi no yume~" starting on July 7 (Thu.), this advance screening was held in a planetarium, which is also the setting of "planetarian", for an extra touch. Many fans visited the Konica Minolta Planetarium "Tenku," where the event was held, and enjoyed episodes 1-3 of "planetarian~Chiisana Hoshi no Yume~" projected on the dome-shaped planetarium with reclining seats, just like the atmosphere of the story. The audience enjoyed the atmosphere of the film in their reclining seats.
The screening was attended by special guests Keiko Suzuki, who plays the heroine, Yumemi Hoshi, and Daisuke Ono, who plays the role of the scrapyard owner, as well as director Naokatsu Tsuda, who spoke about the film for about 30 minutes. Now? But when I saw the finished work, I thought it was only because it was made now" (Suzuki), and "I was just a novice actor at the time, a nobody, and I was deeply moved to be able to play this work again" (Ono). Director Tsuda, who said he was originally a big fan of Key's works, added, "Twelve years ago, I was just starting out in the industry and working as a production manager. It was like a dream come true for me to be involved in a Key work that I love so much.
When asked what he thought of the five episodes of "planetarian: Chiisana hoshino yume," which will be distributed online from July 7, he replied, "The game version of Yumemi is completely portrayed as a robot, but the anime version of Yumemi is closer to a human. The height of Yumemi is also much taller, and I was conscious of that when I was acting," said Suzuki. I could feel the spirit of the staff" (Ms. Ono). In response, Director Tsuda commented, "The staff's attention to detail was amazing. I felt that in order for the voice actors to understand the atmosphere of the film, it had to be done in a certain way. In particular, the rain and planetarium expressions are amazing," he said confidently.
In his final message to the fans, he said, "It's filled with a lot of feelings, and our favorite Key is here! Ono, who admits to being a Key lover himself, concluded his message with the following words: "There are a lot of thoughts and feelings in this work.
Planetarian ~Chiisana Hoshino Yume~" will be available on Nico Nico Douga and other video distribution sites from July 7 (Thu). Please check the official website for the detailed distribution date and time.
