Finding Dory" is a story that takes place one year after "Finding Nemo," a masterpiece that won the 76th Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film and is the highest grossing Disney/Pixar film of all time in Japan. Set in the "human world," a forbidden place for sea creatures, the film depicts a scaled-up adventure and the importance of family and friendship.

For the first time in Disney/Pixar history, famous stars from around the world play the roles of announcers at the Marine Life Institute. Aki Yashiro will sing the end song "Unforgettable" in the Japanese dubbed version. In the released video, the main character Dolly calls her "Ms. Yashiro," which is a rare scene, and it is unusual for a character to call an actual celebrity by her name. In the subtitled version, the role is played by Sigourney Weaver, an actress known for her roles in "Avatar" and the "Alien" series.
