Autumn anime "March Lion" theme song is by BUMP OF CHICKEN! New song for OP, collaboration song for ED.

BUMP OF CHICKEN will sing the theme song for the TV anime "March Lion," which will start this fall.

March Lion" is an anime work based on the manga series in Young Animal by Chika Umino, who is well known for "Hachimitsu to Clover," which has also been made into a TV anime. It depicts a lonely 17-year-old professional shogi player who lost his family in an accident when he was a child, and how he opens his heart through interaction with three sisters he suddenly meets. Directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, the animation is produced by Shaft, and will be broadcast on NHK Sogo Television. A live-action film adaptation has also been announced.

BUMP OF CHICKEN has been chosen as the theme song artist. The opening theme song will be a newly written song, and the ending theme song will be the collaboration song "Fighter". The song "Fighter" was written by BUMP OF CHICKEN in response to "March Lion" as a collaboration between the two artists, who respect each other as creators. Chika Umino, who heard the song, drew a spin-off manga of the same title as the song, an unprecedented attempt that gained tremendous support from fans of both artists.
