Autumn Anime "Touken Ranbu - Hanamaru-", 1st Character Illustration Revealed!　Comments from Mitsuhiro Ichirai & Toshiki Masuda!

The first character illustrations and cast comments from the TV anime "Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru," which starts in October, have been released.



Since its launch on January 14, 2015, "ToukenRanbu"has beengaining explosive popularity, especially among women, for its attractive male characters with rich personalities and relationships based on historical facts, andhas also been adapted into a stage/musical .The TV anime "Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru" is directed by Takashi Naotani (first-time director of a TV anime series), with character design by Junichiro Taniguchi, series composition and script by Pierre Sugiura, and production by Animation Studio. In addition, "Sword Dance (tentative title)," produced by ufotable, is scheduled to air by the end of 2017.

Animated character illustrations of Yasusada Yamatomori (CV: Mitsuhiro Ichirai) and Kiyomitsu Kashu (CV: Toshiki Masuda) and a collection of facial expressions by Junichiro Taniguchi have been released. Below are cast comments.


Please tell us about your impressions of the characters you will be playing and your enthusiasm for playing them .

Mitsuhiro Ichirai: Stable-kun is usually calm and gentle, but when he goes into battle mode, he turns out to be a very funny (?) boy who loses his temper as if he were a different person. In Hanamaru, how much does his battle mode change? I am looking forward to seeing how much I can see his battle mode in Hanamaru. Can he really say, "Fall on your neck and die! I wonder if he can say that! (Laughs)

Toshiki Masuda: Since his image colors are black and red, at first I thought he might be a bit of a troublesome character with some quirks, but I found a cute and mischievous side to him, so I want to play freely with him to the extent that he doesn't hate me.
