Autumn Anime "March Lion" Announces Main Cast!　Kengo Kawanishi, Ai Chino, Kana Hanazawa, Misaki Kuno

The main cast of the TV anime "March Lion," whichwill start in October,has been revealed.



March Lion" is an anime work based on the manga serialized in Young Animal by Chika Umino, who is well known for "Hachimitsu to Clover," which has also been made into a TV anime. It depicts a lonely 17-year-old professional shogi player who lost his family in an accident when he was a child, and how he opens his heart through interaction with three sisters he suddenly meets. Directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, the animation is produced by Shaft, and will be broadcast on NHK Sogo Television. A live-action film adaptation has also been announced.

The cast of the main character and the three sisters has now been unveiled. Rei Kiriyama will be played by Kengo Kawanishi, Akari Kawamoto by Ai Chino, Hinata Kawamoto by Kana Hanazawa, and Momo Kawamoto by Misaki Hisano.

I am very happy to have the opportunity to play the leading role in the wonderful work "March Lion". When I heard about the audition, I knew I wanted to do it! So I was very surprised when my manager told me that I had been chosen. When I read the original work, I thought it was really interesting because of the atmosphere of the pictures, the interesting personalities of each character, and the clear distinction between serious scenes and gag scenes. I heard that a live-action movie will be made next year, and I would like to continue to play my role as "Rei Kiriyama" in the anime version as well.

I will be playing the role of Akari Kawamoto, the eldest of the three sisters. My name is Ai Chino.
I'm waiting for the day of recording with the same excitement as the day before a field trip. This work is full of charm, which cannot be expressed in a single word.
