Sword Art Online" Live-action project underway in Hollywood!　A TV drama based on the original story will be broadcast.

A live-action film adaptation of "Sword Art Online" has been announced.



Sword Art Online" is an anime work based on the light novel by Reki Kawahara. The first TV anime season aired from July to December 2012 and the second from July to December 2014, and a completely new anime movie "Sword Art Online the Movie Sword Art Online -Ordinal Scale-" is scheduled to be released in spring 2017.

It has now been announced that Skydance, an American diversified media company, has purchased the worldwide live-action film rights. The pilot episode will be broadcast as a TV drama based on the original story, and the screenwriter for the pilot episode is Rheta Kalogridis, who has worked on "Avatar" and "Terminator: New Beginnings/Genisys. In addition, Skydance Interactive is planning to launch a virtual reality experience.
