Anime "WIMUSHI PEDAL SPARE BIKE" Unveils "Makishima Arc" Advance Scene Cuts!　Comments from Shotaro Morikubo have also arrived!

Scene cuts, setting images, and cast comments have arrived from the anime "WIMUSU PEDAL SPARE BIKE," which will be screened for a special two-week limited run starting September 9.



The anime is based on the manga series by Wataru Watanabe, serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Champion, and is a spin-off series of "Weak Pedal". kun" as an extra part. The third season of the TV anime "Wimpy Pedal" will begin in January 2017.


The "Yusuke Makishima Arc" has been unveiled with advance scene cuts and character set-up drawings. You can't miss Makishima, his classmates Mamoru Kaneshiro and Shin Tadokoro, and the then captain Michiji Kansaki, who plays an important role in the story, in their youth.

How was it playing the role of Yusuke Makishima for the first time in a while ?

I had played Makishima in the TV anime and the movie version, and I had left my feelings for Sakamichi and the other first and second year students, so I thought it would be difficult to convey my feelings. However, I was able to switch gears because I wanted to depict Makishima's past, and "Spare Bike" has a more comical feel to it. I was also looking forward to seeing the Sohoku cast together for the first time in a while, and I couldn't wait to get to the studio before recording.

─ As a first-year high school student playing Makishima, what did you keep in mind in your performance and what did you feel when playing Makishima, such as the differences from your third year?

Compared to the third-year students, who have their own philosophies and beliefs, the first-year students have not yet developed their own philosophies and beliefs, and this was the episode in which an important "pillar" for Makishima was established, so I tried to act as pure as possible. Also, I was an even worse communicator than in the third year, a guy who "could only talk on his bicycle" (laughs).


(Laughs) ─ What kind of person is Yusuke Makishima to you?

He is a character that I feel a great deal of sympathy for, whether I am playing him or seeing him as a third party. I was inspired by his every word and his activities. I would like to meet him face to face and have a long talk with him.
