Pets" is a joint production of Illumination Entertainment and Universal Studios, which produced last year's hit summer vacation movie "Minions. The film is a humorous depiction of the behind-the-scenes life of pets, a story of laughter, bonding, and emotion that has made everyone wonder what pets do when their owners are away from home.

The film's worldwide box office has reached the $592.64 million mark and is on track to surpass the $600 million mark, ranking seventh among all films released in 2016. In addition, a sequel has already been decided to be produced in response to this blockbuster hit.

The Japanese dubbed version of the film has also attracted attention for its cast, which includes Osamu Shitara and Yuki Himura of the popular comedian Bananaman, as well as a splendid lineup of voice actors, including Shiori Sato, Hiromi Nagasaku, Mamoru Miyano, Yuki Kaji, Miyuki Sawashiro, and Ryusei Nakao. On its first day of release, the film drew an audience of 233,338 and grossed 295.26 million yen, surpassing the first day results of "Minions" (5.2 billion yen) and "Jurassic World" (9.5 billion yen), both of which were released during last summer vacation. Toho Towa, the film's distributor, commented that they expect the film to gross in the 5 billion yen range.
