SanDisk SD Memory Cards Now Available with New "Video Speed Class" for 4K/8K

SD memory cards manufactured by SanDisk that support the new "Video Speed Class" speed class for SD memory cards are now on sale.

The two models released are the SDSDXXG-032G-GN4IN, a 32GB capacity SDHC card, and the SDSDXXG-064G-GN4IN, a 64GB capacity SDXC card, both of which are compatible with the Video Speed Class "V30".

The video speed class is a guaranteed minimum write speed when recording video, and was established as the third speed class. The new speed class also supports the creation of multiple files during video recording, which was not possible with the previous speed classes. At present, there are five video speed class levels, ranging from "V6" (6 MB per second) to "V90" (90 MB per second), with the numbers indicating the speed.

The "V30" released this time is a product for 4K video recording with a guaranteed write speed of 30MB/sec, and is the third fastest grade from the top. Other than recording capacity, specifications are the same for the two models. The maximum read and write speeds are 95 MB/s and 90 MB/s, respectively.

As mentioned above, video speed class is considered a separate standard from the existing "speed class" (C2/C4/C6/C10) and "UHS speed class" (U1/U3), so the logos for speed class "C10" and UHS speed class "U3" are printed on the card surface as well. The price is as follows.
