This song may be the beginning of a new stage for May'n, who has created numerous legends, and is sure to be a hot song that will be a hit on her Asia tour that starts in January 2017!

The perfect song for the current feeling of "I want to believe in myself

─ You have already performed the single "Belief" at several release events, haven't you?

May'n We haven't had many events before the release of the song, so everyone seemed to be happy to hear the full version of the song ahead of time. I am also confident that I can release this song, so at the handover event, I said, "Isn't it great! (laughs).

─ ─ What was your impression of the song when you heard it for the first time?

May'n: It fit me so well that I thought "I definitely want this song. Of course, it is the theme song for an anime, so I want to deliver a song that fits the work. But it also fits the song that I want to sing now, and even if I had the chance to release a single separately from this work, I think I would have wanted to release this song. That's how much I felt that this song fits my current feeling.

─ ─ How do you feel about it?

May'n The main theme of "Taboo Tattoo" is to stand up for one's beliefs, but I had a feeling that this would be surprisingly difficult. Even during my own activities, I sometimes felt that "I am not ready" or "I need to be more," and I was not confident in myself. However, many of my friends have supported me and we were able to put on a great show together on our recent tour, so I started to think that I would like to feel confident that my friends love me and that this would be a way to return the favor. It is a very significant song in the sense that I came across it at a time when I was feeling the need to "believe in myself.

───The lyrics include words such as "justice" and "TABOO" that link to the world of "Taboo Tattoo," what are your own thoughts on the work?

May'n I always read the original story before I start working on the theme song, and I love it so much that I got hooked on it even without working on it this time. Each character strongly believes in his or her mission and justice, so I felt that even if he or she is an enemy, he or she cannot simply be called a bad guy. Believing in yourself is the most important thing, and you are not qualified to impose justice on others if you don't believe in it. ......I have learned such important things from this work that can be linked to my daily life.

─ By the way, who is your favorite character?

May'n It's hard to decide! But I think I would have to say Ill. She is a bit tsundere and cat-like. She is a girl who believes in Hime-sama despite her darkness and has a firm belief that Hime-sama is the meaning of her life. She is cool in battle, but cute when she's just being herself, and that's what I really like about her.

─ ─ Are there any other phrases that are particularly impressive or that you are conscious of?

May'n The second phrase is "I don't need boring rumors. I used to think that it is necessary to live life paying attention to various sounds we hear in daily life, but recently I really realized that it is important to believe in what you think "this is it" first. It's a phrase that makes me say to myself what I have been agonizing over for a long time because I couldn't put it into words properly.

─ Is there anything you want listeners to feel through this song?

May'n We all experience a few times when we need to have the courage to take a step forward. At those times, you have to believe in yourself the most. If you don't, I am sure things will not go well, so I hope to convey the "strength to believe in yourself," which is the axis of this song, to many people.
