Plextor-branded NVMe SSD "M8Pe" goes on sale on the 27th! Approx. 13,000 yen for the 256GB model

The Plextor-branded NVMe SSD "M8Pe" series is now available. The M8PeG-08, an M.2 model with a heat sink, will go on sale on the 27th.



The "M8Pe" series is an NVMe SSD that uses PCI Express 3.0 x4 as its interface, and is more reasonably priced than the PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe SSDs already on the market. The M8PeG-08, which will go on sale on the 27th, is equipped with a heatsink to prevent heat generation during operation, which is often pointed out with NVMe SSDs.

The retail prices are 7,000 yen for the 128GB model, 12,000 yen for the 256GB model, 23,000 yen for the 512GB model, and 47,000 yen for the 1TB model. However, according to the store, "there is talk that some models will increase in price from the next shipment.

Read/write rates are 2500MB/s and 1400MB/s for the 1TB, 2300MB/s and 1300MB/s for the 512GB, 2000MB/s and 900MB/s for the 256GB, and 1600MB/s and 500MB/s for the 128GB.

Main specifications include Marvell 88SS1093 controller, Toshiba 15nm Toggle MLC NAND flash, 1GB LPDDR3 cache (1TB model) or 512MB LPDDR3 cache (512GB/256GB/128GB models), MTBF of 2.4 million hours, and 5-year warranty. The warranty period is 5 years.

The M8PeY expansion card type and the M8PeG-06 M.2 model without a heat sink, which are part of the same series lineup, are scheduled to be released in September.
