Anipota launches "Not-for-Sale T-Shirt Giveaway Campaign" to Commemorate the Release of Makoto Shinkai's Latest Work "Kimi no na wa. commemorating the release of Makoto Shinkai's latest work, "Kimi no na wa!

Akiba Research Institute's anime portal, "Anipota", will start today, August 31 (Wed.), 2016, the "What's your name? The name of the movie" to commemorate the release of Makoto Shinkai's latest theatrical anime " Kimi no na wa. The campaign period is from September 30 (Wed.) to September 30 (Fri.). The campaign will run until September 30 (Fri.).

Kimi no na wa. is the latest work by Makoto Shinkai, the director of "5 Centimeters per Second" and "The Garden of Words," whose beautiful animation and delicate stories have gained worldwide popularity. The film features a high school girl from the countryside who yearns for the city and a high school boy from the city, and depicts their love and a miracle when they switch places in a dream. The original story, director, and screenplay are by Makoto Shinkai, the animation director is Masashi Ando, who has participated in many Studio Ghibli films including "Spirited Away," the character design is by Masaga Tanaka of "My Heart is Screaming. The music is by RADWIMPS, and the production is by Comics Wave Film.

The film, which opened on August 26 (Fri.) at 301 screens nationwide, the largest for a Shinkai film, is already off to a good start with 959,834 moviegoers and box-office revenue exceeding 1.2 billion yen over the three-day weekend. Many of you may have already seen the film or are thinking of seeing it in the near future. Some reviews have already been posted on "Anipota," and these reviews are also very positive.
