Autumn Anime "March Lion", Nobuhiko Okamoto to play the main character "Shinyuu"!　Special video with cast interviews will be broadcast on September 3.

The TV anime "March Lion," whichwill start in October,has announced the broadcast of a special video.



March Lion" is an anime work based on the manga serialized in Young Animal by Chika Umino, who is well known for "Hachimitsu to Clover," which has also been made into a TV anime. It depicts a lonely 17-year-old professional shogi player who lost his family in an accident when he was a child, and how he opens his heart through interaction with three sisters he suddenly meets. Directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, the animation is produced by Shaft, and will be broadcast on NHK Sogo Television. A live-action film adaptation has also been announced.

A special video will be broadcast from 23:58 on September 3, prior to the first broadcast on October 8 at 23:00. The video faithfully reproduces Chika Umino's worldview and is said to be full of dynamic images that will heighten anticipation for the on-air broadcast. In addition, it was revealed that Nobuhiko Okamoto will play the role of Harunobu Nikaido, a professional Go player who appears in the video as a "heart friend" of the main character, Rei Kiriyama, and interviews with Kengo Kawanishi, Ai Chino, Kana Hanazawa, Misaki Hisano and Okamoto will also be inserted.

In addition, the special program "Autumn New Anime Dai-Introduction! (tentative)" on NHK General TV and E-television. The program will air on NHK General TV from 23:30 on September 18/25:50 on September 23, and on E-television from 25:40 on September 24/18:55 on September 30/25:55 on October 2.
