Hotel to be built in front of JR Akihabara Station on the site of "JR East Akihabara Building" next to the east-west free passageway

A nine-story hotel will be constructed in front of JR Akihabara Station.

It will be located next to the east-west free passageway at the JR Akihabara Electric Town exit. It is the former site of the JR East Akihabara Building, which usedto house NewDays Akihabara, Becker's Akihabara, and Chef's Kitchen Curry Kitchen Akihabara.

According to the "notice sign" in place, the building will be used as ahotel and stores, and will have 9 floors above ground. The site area is approximately 1070 square meters. The building area is 795 square meters. The total area is 6,635 square meters. The height of the building is approximately 37 m. Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2009.
