Anime Column] Anime writers' summary review of summer 2016 anime! Introducing 5 notable works including "Activ Raid - Mobile Assault Room Section 8 - 2nd" and "Fudan High School Life"!
The 2016 summer anime season has come to a close, and there are already three months left in the year. In this issue, we will review the notable works whose final episodes aired at the end of September. We will be reviewing the near-future police anime "Activ Raid - Mobile Assault Room Section 8 2nd," the first TV series in 8 years "Macross Delta," "Mob Psycho 100" serialized in the web comic magazine "Ura Sunday," and the sequel to the hit idol anime "Love Live! Sunshine! Sunshine!", and boy meets boy "Fudan High School Life"!
Active Raid -Mobile Assault Room Section 8- 2nd
An original robot anime that drew attention as the first time that general director Goro Taniguchi took up the regime side of the story as his theme. Perhaps it is because the previous episodes mainly depicted outlaws such as terrorists and drifters, but as the episodes progressed, the story began to resemble a gang of fools rather than a police story. In the second season, the escalation of violence escalated, partly because of the increased authority of the police. I am justice! The mechanics install special functions without the knowledge of the government, and the pretense that legal procedures are required for the use of armaments is silenced by interpreting the prime minister's raw reply as a permission.
In the third episode, "The Angel and the God of Destruction," the police and the criminals use a voice changer and everyone becomes the voice of Arie Ozawa, thereby bringing the difference between them as close to zero as possible. The film is so aggressive that it even reminds us of the classic "Prefectural Police vs. Organized Violence," which depicted the police and yakuza as the same kind of people, but our surprise reaches its peak when Peepo-kun appears on the end card. Yes, this work was a collaboration with the Metropolitan Police Department. Furthermore, the final form of the mecha is armed with nothing but its fists, and it reaches a dramatic climax in which it saves Tokyo with a single punch. The final scene, free from all ties, brings out a sense of exhilaration befitting a painful entertainment.
Macross Delta
Since the main characters in anime are full of insensitive guys who do not understand girls' feelings, it is important to convey your feelings of affection straight to the guy you like in order to win him over. With this in mind, it is easy to see which of the two heroines, Freya and Mirage, who govern the love triangle in "Macross Delta" will emerge victorious. This is because Freya has a sensory organ, the rune, attached to her head that emits light in response to her emotions. The Rune's kind design, in which it glows more brightly and makes a sound as it gains favor and looks like a heart, is somewhat reminiscent of the romance games of yesteryear. Even Hayate, who did not react when Mirage pressed her breasts against his, cannot ignore Freya's runes, and he cannot help but be conscious of her. The winner of love is not the size of the breasts, but the presence or absence of the runes.
Freya is such an emotional leaker, but her confession scene is carried over to the final episode. From the outside, it is obvious that they are in love with each other,
However, she may have been afraid to confess her feelings to someone who does not have a rune = she does not know how she really feels. The finale, in which she finally says the word "I love you" and sings her feelings to bring the war to an end, is a "Macross" ending.
mob psycho 100
An anime adaptation of the psychic action manga by ONE, the creator of "One-Pan Man. The main character, Shigeo Kageyama (Mob), has overwhelming power, and psychic battles are fought by psychics who control a variety of powers, including fire, gravity, evil spirits, and illusions. The simple but strong character designs and the animation, which sometimes incorporates pencil drawings and oil paintings, are an excellent match.
The most exciting scene in the film, however, is when the self-proclaimed psychic impostor Reigen Arataka, who has no powers of his own, knocks out the psychics with his mouth and hands. The scene in which he blackmails the psychic as a child who has failed to grow up, and uses sermons to pull him out of his delusion and back to reality is strangely convincing. The epilogue, which is based on the character design of the original work, is filled with a strange sense of weakness, and is also a must-see.
Love Live! Sunshine!
Sunshine! The main character, Honoka Kosaka, seems to be acting on a whim, but in reality, she is a scheming person who is on a mission to save her school from closure. They were indeed cute. The friends were cute, but as with any anime produced by Sunrise, there was a wall between them and the members of μ's, similar to the relationship between the main character machine and the mass-produced machine.
However, Chika Takami of "Sunshine! Chika Takami of "Sunshine!", who saw the Aqours in action and admired them, asks a favor of her three friends and tries to bring them up on stage as well. Her kindness was evident in Chika's words as she murmured, "It's not just the nine of us," before opening the door to the stage.
Fudan High School Life
Based on a popular comedy serialized on Ichijinsha's web comic distribution site "Zero-Sum Online. The story centers on Ryo Sakaguchi, a high school rotten boy who has normal sexuality but loves BL, and Toshiaki Nakamura, a normal boy who is pushed around by him, and depicts the school life of their fun-loving members. They spend their days of adolescence going to a coterie magazine sale with a girl they have become friends with and selling BL books with fellow rotten boys to the excitement of the rotten girls around them.
The ending theme song, "SEKAI wa Boy Meets Boy♂," is one of the best in the series, and the soulful cry of the singer's love for BL will make you say, "Boy meets boy! I want to join in the chorus of "Boy Meets Boy". Ichijinsha's commercial also includes a letter corner, allowing viewers to fully enjoy the broadcast slot.
