Anime movie "LUPIN THE IIIRD: Ishikawa Gomon in the Smoke of Blood", recording report has arrived! Daisuke Namikawa, who plays Ishikawa Gomon, and others commented!

An afreight report has arrived from the anime film "LUPIN THE IIIRD: Ishikawa Gomon in the Smoke of Blood," which will be released in February 2017.

This is the latest in the "LUPIN THE IIIRD" series, following the theatrical anime "LUPIN THE IIIRD: Tombstone of Daisuke Tsugimoto," which was produced in 2014 as "Lupin the III" for adults and received a great response. The story depicts the moment when the young swordsman Ishikawa Gomon awakens to his strongest. The film is directed and animated by Ken Koike, written by Yuya Takahashi, creative advisor Katsuhito Ishii, music by James Shimoji, and produced by Telecom Animation Film.

The nine postrecording reports and comments from each of the cast members released this time reveal part of the appeal of this film for "adult Lupin fans. The following is the report.

<After-recording report
On a certain day in September, not only the main cast but also voice actors playing extras gathered at a studio in Tokyo. The recording session was held under the direction of director Ken Koike and sound director Hiroshi Shimizu.

This was the first postrecording of Ken Koike's "LUPIN THE IIIRD" series since "Tombstone of Daisuke Dimentional," which was released in 2014. From the action scene at the beginning of the recording, the voice actors in the booth commented, "It looks like live-action," and "Hard! and "It's so hard!

Kanichi Kurita, who plays the role of Lupin III, said, "This series is similar to the original "Lupin the Third". Lupin is also played as a villainous thief." As he says, the film depicts the young days of the Lupin III gang, and the youthfulness of the members, who have not yet become a team, is glaringly apparent.
Kiyoshi Kobayashi says of Daisuke Dimegami, "Dimegami also looks tense, which is different from usual. The rough and ready Gomon before he becomes a master swordsman, the young Inspector Zenigata who shields his boss, and Fujiko Mine who is somewhat indifferent to Lupin and the others, create a hard atmosphere that is unique to the "LUPIN THE IIIRD" series.

Kanichi Kurita, the leader of the troupe, was always on hand to cheer up those around him, and he was also considerate of the voice actors playing extras and handed out food supplies. As he himself says, "Lupin, the villainous thief," he played a hard, mature Lupin different from those in other TV series.

Kobayashi repeatedly checks the scenes he has recorded, saying, "I don't want to regret it when I see it in the theater. Thinking that there might be a different approach from his current performance, he asked, "May I try one more time? I was impressed by the way he took on the challenge of acting.

Then there was Daisuke Namikawa as Ishikawa Gomon. His emotional words when he was framed as a traitor. His sobbing in frustration. He played the role of a young and inexperienced man who gradually changes through setbacks, exploring subtle changes with the production team. As I watched Namikawa respond to the sound director's various instructions and requests with his richly varied acting without pause, I was convinced that a Gomon Ishikawa that no one had ever seen before was about to be born.

Lupin and his gang from a time when they had not yet become friends. Among them, Fujiko Mine looks at Lupin and his friends with cold eyes. Miyuki Sawashiro expressed the sense of distance by acting as if she was somewhat indifferent and detached from Lupin and his friends. As an aside, it was strange that sometimes I could hear Fujiko's voice chatting in the recording booth.

Koichi Yamadera plays Inspector Zenigata, who Kurita Kanichi says "gets more and more austere. He played the honest and spilling passion of the young Zenigata during his public security days, as he challenges the gradually dirty upper echelons. His passion spilled over into his performance as he persevered in the scenes where he persisted and played his part. In the scene where Lupin makes a pass at Fujiko, the sound director instructed Kurita to give the scene a sexy, austere feel, like a villain making a pass at a beautiful woman, instead of the slightly jokey feel of the TV series. Not only in this scene, but in every detail of the film, the "LUPIN THE IIIRD" style of director Ken Koike was evident.

The main cast also participated in the scene in which the voice cast performed the hustle and bustle of a busy bar. I am not sure what the final hustle and bustle will be, but to the author's ears, he did indeed hear Fujiko's voice. Listening to it in the theater might also be an interesting experience.

Comments from the cast
Kanichi Kurita / Lupin the Third
I think the finished product will be quite hard and heelish. There have been many stories in which Gemon has had little dialogue, so this is the most dialogue-heavy story to date, depicting the young Gemon's rise from frustration to becoming the strongest of all. Today, when Daisuke Namikawa did the postrecording for "Blood Smoke of Ishikawa Gomon," I think it is the day we can say that he truly became Gomon. In the "LUPIN THE IIIRD" series, Lupin is a bad guy, a good thief on TV, but in this series, he plays as the original bad guy and thief. He is a good thief on TV, but in this series, he plays the role of the original villain.

Kiyoshi Kobayashi / Daisuke Dimentional
Ishikawa Goemon in the Smoke of Blood" is a work that depicts Goemon's setback. It is a story about recovering from a setback. I would be grateful if everyone could view it with support. I myself played the role without much awareness of the fact that the story depicts a young age. However, I will express myself by experiencing the story through the script. The characters in this work have different faces from the TV series. They are not cartoonish. The dimensionality also has a tense look. Everyone, please support Goemon's recovery from his setback.

Daisuke Namikawa / Ishikawa Gomon
Usually, Gomon is the type of character whose inner conflicts do not easily come to the surface, but I got the impression from reading the script that he spends such a long time fighting not only with his enemies but also with himself. Since this is a story of a young man, I tried to keep a balance between the emotional appearance of Gemon's youth and the austerity of his character, while gradually making subtle changes in his character to become the modern master Gomon. I believe that there are many people who have seen "Tombstone of Daimon Daisuke" and have high expectations for "Ishikawa Gomon in the Smoke of Blood" as well. I put my whole heart and soul into my performance so that I would not betray their expectations. Both the images and the story are very interesting, so I hope you will come to the theater.

Miyuki Sawashiro / Fujiko Mine
Fujiko is a woman who still retains a rather indifferent side even after growing up. Since the story takes place when she was even younger, I played the role with an indifferent distance from Lupin and the others, as if I did not have much affection or camaraderie for them. The best part of the film is "the young Ishikawa Gomon," who has never been seen before. I believe that old fans will enjoy the film in a fresh way, and that the still unenlightened Gemon will feel somewhat familiar to new viewers of "Lupin the Third". I would be more than happy if you could see it in the theater. I look forward to seeing you at the theater.

Koichi Yamadera/ Inspector Zenigata

This series is really great. Gemon's aesthetics are carried through the story, and it is even harder and more violent than the previous works. I have never seen Gomon cut down like this. Zenigata also introduces himself as "Zenigata of Public Safety" instead of Interpol. I played the role without any playfulness, but with more austerity and honesty than usual, and with an awareness of the heat within. This time, we have a very strong enemy,so strong thatI think no one can match him.I can't stop being excited and interested in what will happen in the future of this series. This is a work for adults. It is a work that portrays adults with aesthetics. This is a work that all adults who love Lupin should see.
