The popular volleyball anime "HIQUE! was the top ranked anime. Currently in its third season as a 2016 fall anime, "HIQUE! Karasuno High School vs. Shiratorizawa Gakuen High School," which is currently airing its third season as a 2016 fall anime, is a great work in terms of drawing, tempo, and characters, and fans of the original work are also satisfied with the result. The sweaty storyline, which is typical of athletic clubs, also resonates with many former members of athletic clubs.

In second place was another popular basketball anime , "Kuroko no Basketball. Contrary to the usual theory of sports manga, the original manga was a big hit because of its interesting setting in which the main character is unremarkable. When it was eventually adapted into an anime, it was also a big hit, especially among female fans. The anime has already aired for three seasons (all of which were two-cour seasons), making it a long-lasting sports anime.

Also in third place was the popular baseball anime "A of Diamonds. It is based on a high school baseball manga in which quirky and unique characters engage in friendly competition and aim for the Koshien National High School Baseball Tournament. The anime ran for two and a half years from 2013 to 2016, with a total of 126 episodes in two seasons broadcast on the TV Tokyo network, making it a long-running work that is rare these days.

These are the three best works, and it is interesting to note that "Production I.G" was involved in the animation production of all three works. It is fair to say that all of the works are of a very high level in terms of tempo and direction, in addition to their well-reputed drawing skills.

Following in fourth place was "Prince of Stride Alternative," which is quite unique as a club activity, but is set in the near future and is about the sport of "striding. Although it is more of a good-looking male friendship work targeting female fans, many said that the competition scenes of "Stride" running through the streets of Tokyo in the near future were interesting and gained a certain level of popularity.

Also in fifth place was the swimming club-themed "Free! Produced by Kyoto Animation, this work stands out for its attractive drawings and characters, but it too has a mainly female fan base and still enjoys high popularity.

Over Drive" and"Weak Mushi Pedal," both of which share the same cycling theme, came in at No. 6 and No. 7. As for this season's anime, the soccer anime "DAYS" came in at No. 8, and the first rugby anime "ALL OUT! ranked in at No. 10.
