This anime is based on the manga of the same title serialized in "Morning Two" by Shiori Amase. The story of Kenji Gion, the main character who has no experience in rugby and is small in stature but has more competitive spirit than anyone else, and the unique members of the team have gained popularity for their coming-of-age story. The anime is the first ever to be based on rugby, and has attracted attention not only from fans of the original story, but also from rugby fans. Directed by Kenichi Shimizu of "Parasite: Sei's Ratio", series composition and script by Masahiro Yokoya of "Free!", script by Shingo Irie of "Kuroko no Basketball", character design by Masatitsu Sue of "BLACK LAGOON", and produced by TMS and Madhouse.

The jacket of the ending theme "Zenryoku Shonen produced by Tamio Okuda" has been released. It was drawn by the original author, Shiori Amase, and features a striking image of Kenji Gion looking forward with tears in his eyes and Sumiaki Ishimizu staring at the ball. The CD "Zenryoku Shonen produced by Tamio Okuda" featuring this illustration will be released on Wednesday, November 30, at a price of 1,300 yen plus tax, with limited production through February 2017.

This powerful disc includes the premium version of "Hanatsu," the theme song for the 96th National High School Rugby Tournament!
