Interview

Q: How did you feel after the post-recording?

Azuma: It was fun, but difficult. It was especially difficult to get the timing right! It's perfect! but the voice actor was watching every detail and gave me advice like, "Oh, you're a little off. Nishi: My timing was messed up too.

Nishi: My timing was messed up too. I had to redo it several times, and the voice actors around me told me, "You should put your breath here.

Azuma: During recording, the voice actors took turns standing at the four microphones and saying their lines. We were like, "Wait, is it our turn now? It's over, it's over! We were like, "Wait, is it our turn now? In the end, we were the only ones who took the pictures later. All of it.

Nishi: But I'm glad we were able to do it together.

Azuma: That's true. But what do you think? I wonder if there are some parts that don't match the video.

Nishi: I went to a vocational school in addition to college, and I was interested in voice acting so much that I chose the voice-over acting course. I hope I was able to blend in with the professionals, even if only a little.

Azuma: Because of the time limit, I couldn't do it until I was satisfied with it, so even if I was told "OK," I would think, "Oh, I wish I could have done it again.

Q:This time, you won the "Idol Lottery" program on TV Asahi and won the right to perform.

Azuma: I was so happy!

Nishi: I wasn't confident at all, and I was 98% sure that we wouldn't win, so I was surprised when they called us! I was so surprised when they called us! Us? I was so surprised when they called us!

Azuma: At first, when it was decided that we would win, I knew that I would be made into a character, but I didn't know that I would also be allowed to act as a voice actor.

Nishi: That's right. So I was really surprised when I heard that I could also be a voice actor!

Q: How do you feel when you see the illustration of yourself as a character?

Azuma: I am happy! Moreover, don't they look so much alike? This.

Nishi: It looks like him! Look, look, look! I have perfect front teeth!

Azuma: I also see the resemblance in your sharp eyebrows.

Nishi: It's a memory, isn't it? I was able to be in an anime. And on terrestrial TV!

Azuma: I can say to people, "Hey, look, it's me! I can say to people around me, "Look, it's me!

Q: What did you think of the two characters in the anime?

Azuma: In the anime, they are more gentle or polite.

Nishi: At first I thought they would appear less in the film, but I was surprised because the story progressed around us. Also, there were no difficult actions. I mean, it was difficult enough, but the other voice actors seemed to have more difficulty, so I felt that we were the easy ones.

Azuma: No, I think we just weren't very good at it.

Nishi: I see.

Azuma: We also wanted to improvise like we usually do on stage. Actually, I changed the line "Okay" to "It's okay" once, thinking that I wouldn't say it if I were the one who said it. When I did that, I was immediately corrected and thought, "Oh, no, I can't do that! So I did everything according to the script. It was my first time.

Q: This is the third animated series since the first Tiger Mask.
Nishi: What? You used to do it in the past?

Azuma: You are the third generation? I had no idea (laughs). It's a popular series! If the ratings for this episode are good, I wonder if it will be broadcast in prime time.

Nishi: I would like to be in other animations! But I regretted a little that I should have studied voice acting more properly before doing the postrecording this time. That's why I would like to do it again if I have the chance!

Q: Finally, do you have a message for the viewers?
Azuma: The highlight of the show is that these two guys, who are always wildly unpredictable, are doing their best. That's what I want people to see!

Nishi: Until recently, I said I wanted to be a DJ, but my dream has changed. I want to be a voice actor. That's how much fun it was!
