Western Digital's SSD "WD Green" series is now available! 2.5-inch and M.2 types

Western Digital's WD Green series of SSDs is now available.

The lineup consists of twoform factors, 2.5-inch and M.2, with 250GB and 120GB capacities, respectively.




The WD Green series is Western Digital's entry-level SSD model. The "WD Blue" series of Western Digital SSDs went on sale late last month.

The 240GB model features sequential transfer rates of 540MB/s read and 465MB/sec write, randomtransfer rates of37,000 IOPSreadand68,000IOPSwrite, anda TBW of80TBW.

The 120GB model features sequential transfer rates of The random transfer rate is 37,000 IOPS for read and 63,000 IOPS for write.

Body size is 100.5 x 69.85 x 7mm for 2.5-inch type and 80 x 22 x 1.5mm for M.2 type (Type 2280).
