The latest information on the characters and mechanical settings of the anime "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" has been released.

Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" is a sequel to "Space Battleship Yamato 2199," a remake of the classic "Space Battleship Yamato" that became a hot topic. As the title suggests, the film is inspired by the 1978 animated film "Farewell Space Battleship Yamato: Warriors of Love. Three years after Yamato completes its voyage to Iskandar, the film depicts the threat of the battle nation of Gatlantis, and the new voyage of Yamato's crew to confront it. The executive producer is Shoji Nishizaki, the director is Nobuyoshi Habara of "Blue Sky: Fafner," the assistant director is Makoto Kobayashi of "Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection," and the series composition and screenplay are by Harutoshi Fukui of "Mobile Suit Gundam UC. The first chapter will be screened at 15 theaters nationwide, including Shinjuku Piccadilly, for a limited two-week period starting February 25, 2017.

Susumu Kodai
24 years old. Former Yamato Tactical Commander. After returning from the great voyage to Iskandar, he is engaged in military service in the reorganized "Earth Federation Defense Forces. After exposing himself to various conflicts over the "Wave Motion Cannon Seal" exchanged between Okita Juso and Stasya, he is currently the captain of the destroyer "Yunagi" belonging to the 2nd Escort Fleet. He is now the captain of the Yunagi, a destroyer belonging to the Second Escort Fleet. He is working on his duties while harboring deep-seated feelings of regret over the Earth's current policy of rearmament and reconstruction. Moriyuki
22 years old, former Yamato ship's captain. Former Yamato ship's captain. She is currently the Chief Navigator of the Earth Defense Command Central Command Center. During the journey to Iskandar, she developed a love for Ancient One and is about to get married. She has only memories of the past four years, having lost her innate memory in an accident she had before boarding the Yamato.

Shiro Sanada
He is 33 years old. He is the former Yamato technical director and XO. After returning from Iskandar, he had a confrontation with Ancient over the "Wave Motion Gun Fleet Concept" newly proposed by the Earth Federation government, and lost contact with him for a year. Currently, he holds a key position in the Science Bureau, and is reconstructing the Yamato, which became a vessel for the Cosmo-Reverse, at an undersea dock built near the capital city.

Tokugawa Hikozaemon
He is 66 years old. He is the former Yamato chief engineer. He is the oldest and most experienced engineer. He was scheduled to retire from the military after returning from Iskandar, but his fate changed drastically when the Yamato reengineering project came up. Currently, he is working under Sanada, and together with his one-hand man Yamazaki, he is devoting himself to the rebuilding of Yamato.

Yasuo Nanbu
25 years old. He is the former chief of Yamato's artillery and thunder. Through the great voyage to Iskandar, he has lost his strange elitist attitude, and his resilience as a soldier has greatly increased. On the other hand, he is critical of the current Earth reconstruction policy. He is currently serving on the destroyer Yunagi under Ancient. He is in charge of gunfire and lightning control.

Yoshikazu Aihara
He is 26 years old. Former Yamato communications chief. Currently aboard the destroyer Yunagi. He is in charge of communications control. His kind-hearted and mild-mannered personality has not changed. He still takes good care of his subordinates. He often works with Ancient even after his return to Earth, and understands Ancient's sometimes frustrated feelings.

Isamu Enomoto
40 years old. He is the former Yamato's chief sailmaster. He is an authority on deck work and general outboard work. He is a veteran and was a training instructor when Ancient and Shima were at officer training school. He is currently involved in the reconstruction of the Yamato together with Sanada, Tokugawa, and Yamazaki.

Yamato
A space battleship that completed the great voyage to Iskandar and saved the Earth. After the war, it has been enshrined as a guardian of the Cosmoliverse system, but a new policy of the Earth government has decided to return it to the battle line. Andromeda
Andromeda is an advanced ship built in accordance with the Earth Government's new policy. Its equipment and performance, including its dual wave motion cannon, greatly exceed those of the Yamato. It was built in a short period of time after the war, but it is so complete that its origins are still unknown.
