Anime film "In a Corner of the World" grosses over 450 million yen at the box office! Weekend box-office results exceeded the previous week for the third consecutive week!

It was announced that the box-office revenue of the anime film "In a Corner of the World," which is now in theaters, has exceeded 450 million yen.



Katasumi no Sekai no Katasumi ni" is an animated feature film based on the manga series by Fumiyo Kono, serialized in Manga Action (published by Futabasha). The film depicts the lives of people who lived as they should have during the war, featuring Suzu, a girl who married at the age of 18 in Kure, Hiroshima Prefecture, in the 1940s and 1945s. The film is directed by Sunao Katabuchi, director of "Mai Mai Shinko and the Magic of a Thousand Years," who spent six years meticulously researching Kure during and after World War II and verifying the period.

The weekend box-office results for December 3 (Sat.) and 4 (Sun.), the fourth weekend of the film's release, were announced to be 67,914,220 yen, a 104% increase over the previous week, with a total of 46,108 people in attendance. This is the third consecutive week that the weekend box-office revenue has exceeded that of the previous week, and the film has also risen in the nationwide movie attendance ranking (according to Kogyo Tsushinsha) to 4th place from 6th place the previous week, showing the ever-increasing momentum of the film.

The total number of spectators reached 320,000 and the total box-office revenue exceeded 450 million yen.
