Winter anime "Onihei" theme song is sung by Saori Yuki!　Composed by Kohei Tanaka

New information, including the theme song, has been announced for the winter anime "Onihei," which will begin airing in January 2017.

Based on Shotaro Ikenami's historical novel series "Onihei Hankacho" (Bungeishunju), which has sold a total of 27 million copies. Set in Edo (present-day Tokyo), the series depicts Heizo Hasegawa, the "Hitsuke Touzoku Aaratamekata," or "Firebrand Thief Reformer," as he brings the villains to justice, and has gained popularity among a wide range of people. The work has been widely adapted into live-action dramas and manga, but this is the first time it has been made into an anime. Produced by Masao Maruyama of "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" and "Summer Wars," directed and character designed by Shigeyuki Miya of "BUZZER BEATER" and "Lupin III: GREEN vs. RED," produced by TMS Entertainment, and animated by Studio M2.

It was announced that the theme song will be "And... Live," sung by singer Saori Yuki. Composed and arranged by Kohei Tanaka, who has sung theme songs for "Sakura Wars," "The King of Heroes: GaoGaiGar," and "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure," the song will be written by lyricist Toyohisa Araki, who is himself a big fan of "Onihei Hankacho". Yuki said, "I sang the song not as an accompanist, but as if I was participating in a jazz session. It was very difficult, but I really enjoyed it.

Also, a scene cut from the first episode has been released for the first time. Broadcast station information and the titles of all 13 episodes of the series were also announced.
