Anime "Shijohan Mythology Taikaikei" starts special broadcast!　Opening and ending images changed to new versions

A special broadcast of the TV anime "Shijohan Shinwa Taikei " will begin in January 2017.

Based on a novel by Tomihiko Morimi, "Shijohan Shinwa Taikei" is a TV animation series that aired in the Noitamina slot in 2010. The story depicts a "barren and foolish coming-of-age tale" that unfolds in four parallel worlds under the assumption that "if I had chosen another path instead of joining the XX circle in front of the clock tower of doom 、、、、," the main character is "me" who has entered her third year of school without having achieved anything despite dreaming of a rosy campus life. The highlights of the film are the moratorium-like lifestyle of the protagonist who, despite all his claims, cannot leave the "four and a half tatami mats," the cityscape of Kyoto that expresses the peculiarities of the local climate, and the various worlds depicted in live-action, 3D, bold colors and bold forms. The series featured a total of 11 complete episodes, including a tennis circle version, a movie circle version, a cycling circle version, a softball circle version, and so on.

At the "Fuji TV Noitamina Project Presentation 2017" held on December 15, 2016, a special broadcast of the TV anime "Yoru wa tanshi aruke yo otome" (The Night is Short, Walk away Otome), which shares the same worldview and characters, was announced to celebrate the anime film adaptation of Tomihiko Morimi's original novel.
The opening theme is a cover of the original broadcast theme song "Lost Dog and Rain Beat" by ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, performed by Scenario Art. The ending theme will be "Love Magedon," a new song also by Scenario Art. The opening and ending videos will be new versions.

The anime film "Yoru wa tanashi arukke yo otome" will be directed by Masaaki Yuasa, written by Makoto Ueda (Europe Planning), with original character designs by Yusuke Nakamura, and the theme song by ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, the creators of the TV anime "Shijohan Shinwa Taikei" reunited after six years. The film is scheduled to be released nationwide on April 7, 2017.
