Natsume's Book of Friends" is a TV anime series based on the manga series by Yuki Midorikawa serialized in "Monthly LaLa" (Hakusensha). Natsume saves a married couple, Hizuchi and Hatsuna, who were being attacked by an Ipponkaku yokai over a spring water that strengthens their yokai powers. The couple, who know Reiko, are said to be traveling and making sake cups. The sake cups made by the couple had a reputation for making the finest drinks, but they were called "overnight sake cups" because they disappeared overnight. The next day, Natsume visits the couple with Nyanko-sensei, who wants to drink from the overnight sake cups.

The Banquet of Games (Volume 5)
Nyanko-sensei is in a good mood when he goes to a banquet with an unusual twist. Natsume, curious about the party, follows him to an abandoned mansion, where she finds a scarred yokai called "Yuzuru," and calls out to him. The yūzuru then said, "I will be the next demon," and the house was filled with the excited voices of the yokai. Upon hearing the story, he is told that in that mansion, "Kaiyutei," they are playing a game that lasts for days, vying for supremacy in the valley.
