NVMe SSDs "SSD 960 PRO" & "SSD 960 EVO" with over 3GB/s read are now on sale

The SSD 960 PRO and SSD 960 EVO NVMeM .2 SSDs with over 3GB/s read are now available from Samsung.

The SSD 960 PRO series includes the 512GB model "MZ-V6P512B/IT," and the SSD 960 EVO series includes the 500GB model "MZ-V6E500B/IT" and the 1TB model "MZ-V6E1T0B/IT.

The "SSD 960 PRO" and "SSD 960EVO" are NVMeM.2 SSDs with PCI Express 3.0 x4 connection that use "V-NAND" technology tovertically stack memory cells in three dimensions.

The " SSD 960 PRO" features high-speed transfer rates of over 3GB/s read. The "SSD 960 EVO" has sequential read: up to 3,200MB/s and write: up to 1,900MB/s. The "SSD 960 PRO" has sequential read: up to 3,500MB/s and write: up to 2,100MB/s.

The onboard controller is Samsung "Polaris" andthe cache memory is power-saving LPDDR3 memory (2GB for 2TB model, 1GB for 1TB model, 512MB for 512GB/500GB/250GB model). In addition, the "Dynamic Thermal Slotting Protection" function reduces the transfer rate when the internal temperature exceeds 70 degrees Celsius to prevent heat-related problems.
