The results of the "2017 Winter Anime Anticipation Poll" are in!　Maidragon" and "Konosuba! 2" finished one-two!

We are pleased to announce the results of the official voting project "2017 Winter Anime Expectations Poll," which was held on Akiba Research Institute's anime portal "Anipota" from December 9 (Fri.) to December 25 (Sun.), 2016. The top 10 works are as follows. The total number of votes was 8608.

This season has seen a relatively large number of sequels to popular series, but the new anime "Kobayashi-sanchi no Maidragon " came in first place, beating out a number of popular series.

This new anime is based on the comic of the same title serialized in "Monthly Action" (Futabasha) by a cool cult member. It is a "heartwarming, sometimes black comedy about interracial interactions" between Ms. Kobayashi, a single, tired office worker, and her housemaid, Thor, and other unique dragon girls. Although it is a so-called "non-human" story, the animation is produced by Kyoto Animation, which is known as a talented animation company, and is therefore a hot topic of conversation. Although it was a dark horse in terms of name recognition, it was a clear winner with a large number of votes (1,381).

Following this, the second place with 1142 votes was "Kono-suba! which is a sequel to "Bless This Wonderful World! 2", the sequel to " Bless This Wonderful World! The first season was highly acclaimed, and it is still fresh in our memories that the production of the second season was decided as early as March, during the airing of the first season. I am looking forward to the interaction between the hero, Kazuma, who has been reincarnated into the RPG world, and the three female characters who surround him: Aqua, a bad goddess, Megumi, a wizard, and Daknes, a knight.

The third place and after have dropped to the 500-vote range, but looking at the lineup, one gets the impression that the top ranking was filled by a very reasonable selection of works. The third-place winner was "TV animation Little Witch" (No. 3).

The third-place winner, "TV anime Little Witch Academia," is a TV animation adaptation of a short animation film that was released in March 2013 as part of "Anime Mirai 2013," a project by the Agency for Cultural Affairs to foster young animators. The sequel, "Little Witch Academia: Magical Parade," which was crowd-funded to raise funds for its production, is a must-see work as it will be the first TV animation to be shown on the market.

The following four to eight places were occupied by the latest entries in popular series. Among them, "Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju - Sukeroku Again Arc," a rakugo anime sequel after a one-year absence ,"Yowamushi Pedal NEW GENERATION," the first sequel in two years, and "Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Juyoou-hen," the first sequel in six years, were the highlights of this season. Idol Jihen" at No. 9, and "Kuzu no Honkai" at No. 11, all of which are new animations with original works, are also promising works that have the potential to become big hits.
