Mothers with "Kaby Lake-S" chipset "Intel 200" series are now available from various companies!

Motherboards equipped with the Intel 200 series chipset for Intel's new Kaby Lake-S CPUs are now available from various companies.




The Intel 200 series chipsets are compatible with Intel's new "Kaby Lake" CPUs, and are the successors to the Intel 100 series chipsets that support "Skylake". The new models on sale this time are the performance model "Z270," which supports overclocking, the mainstream model "H270," and the business model "B250.

The CPU socket is LGA1151, the same as the Intel 100 series, but the number of PCI Express 3.0 lanes has been increased to a maximum of 24 lanes ("Z270" has a maximum of 24 lanes, "H270" a maximum of 20 lanes, and "B250" a maximum of 12 lanes). The main feature is support for Optane, a low-latency non-volatile memory.

Note thatonly Windows 10 will be officially supported on Kaby Lake-based PCs, andWindows 8.1/7 will not be supported.
