Animated film "GODZILLA", concept art & cast announced! Hiroki Kaji, Takahiro Sakurai, Tomokazu Sugita, Junichi Suwabe, Kana Hanazawa, Mamoru Miyano, etc.

Concept art and some of the cast members from the animated film "GODZILLA," scheduled for release in 2017, have been announced.

GODZILLA" is the first animated film in the "Godzilla" series, a special effects monster movie released in 1954. The director is Kobun Shizuno, who has worked on many theatrical "Detective Conan" series, including the latest in the series "Detective Conan: Karakurei no Raburetaa" (Detective Conan: Love Song in Red). The film will be directed by Hiroyuki Seshimo, who was the general director of the TV anime "Knights of Sidonia: The Battle of the Ninth Planet" and the film and TV version of the anime "Ajin". The story is drafted and written by Gen Urobuchi (Nitroplus), the creator of the TV anime "Fate/Zero", "PSYCHO-PASS: Psycho-Pass" series, and "Puella Magi Madoka Magica".

Concept art has now been released. The visuals show a squadron of humanoid soldiers, bipedal robots, and even a weapon-like creature with giant legs moving through a forest shrouded in fog. The stage and period of the film have not yet been disclosed, making it a piece that stimulates the imagination.

In addition, some of the cast members have been announced. In alphabetical order, Hiroki Kaji, Takahiro Sakurai, Tomokazu Sugita, Junichi Suwabe, Kana Hanazawa, and Mamoru Miyano have been announced. It will be interesting to see what characters they will play. Further information on this work will be announced on March 26 (Sun.), the second day of AnimeJapan 2017 at Tokyo Big Sight, at the "GODZILLA" Special Stage (tentative name), where the cast will take the stage.

We have assembled a cast of voice actors who represent the world of Japanese animation for this film. I think the cast members are all capable of playing the leading roles.
