On January 28th and 29th, "Valkyrie", a tactical music unit from the TV anime "Macross Delta", held their 2nd LIVE in Yokohama Arena. The group's first performance with a live band on the back was filled with the culmination of the activities of Super Dimension Venus. This article reports on the second day, January 29.
The live started with "Welcome to the Valkyrie World! Valkyrie World". The five members descended on the stage of the packed Yokohama Arena and delivered "Hear The Universe" with their smiling faces, perfectly matched dance moves and beautifully blended singing voices. The audience's energy soared as they responded to the song. The concert got off to a great start.
The cute middle number "Uncertainty☆COSMIC MOVEMENT" brought the thick harmony of the five members to the forefront. The chorus of "NEO STREAM" showed the skillful chorus work of the five members, which was followed by "Absolute 5," a song that seemed to be fighting off the "song of the wind" with its stable and profound chorus, even when combined with the dance and the band. The next section was a close-up of each member of the group.
The next zone focused on songs featuring close-ups of each member. First, "LOVE! THUNDER GLOW" was sung by Miun Delta JUNNA with her majestic voice. The following song, "Nai nai borderline," was as colorful and powerful as ever, and the vocal work at the end of the chorus gave me goosebumps.
After the song, Mochimi Nishida (Makina Delta) and Nao Higashiyama (Reina Delta) remained on stage and boarded a mobile drone (a trolley). They sang "Jiritic ♡ BEGINNER" while driving down the aisle. The two formed a Valkyrie sign with their fingers at the end of the song after joining each other at the back of the aisle. Nishida then started to sing "Onyanoko☆Girl," to the "Kara! She was so happy that she threw a kiss in return during the interlude. The next song, "Silent Hacker," centered on Higashiyama, was a highlight of the show, with a stop-motion dance performance during the interlude.
The scene celebrating Freya's birthday was shown at the end of the song, and the audience sang "Valkyrie's Birthday Song" along with the subtitles of the lyrics displayed on the screen. Then, in the video, Freya Delta Minori Suzuki sang "God Bless You" with snow in the background. It was apparent that the audience was moved from the beginning of the song, because she sang this song for the Valkyrie members only on this day. Perhaps because of this, the song was sung more warmly and carefully. However, the following song, "Kaze ha Mushaimasu Kowashi (Wind Blows Without Notice)," was sung powerfully and majestically, reminding the audience once again of the breadth of her expressive abilities.
The climax of the first half was "AXIA ~Daisuki de Daikirai~". Kaname Delta Kiyono Yasuno's voice in this song was extremely stable, yet carried so much emotion that it almost spilled over. He also took the main part in the following song "GIRAFFE BLUES," and his gentle but core voice made the audience feel even deeper sorrow.
As if to follow up on this, Heinz's "Aura Saara - Glowing Wind" began to resonate, and his image appeared on the screen as well. The moment the image disappeared, Melody Tubac, who sang for Heinz, appeared at the same position! She sang live as it was. In addition, the most frequently played wind song in the film, "Zard Vasa! ~The song of the wind, "Zarde Vasa!
Resonating with her singing voice, Miun, who had awakened as a "wind singer," sang "Luchette Arcane: Hoshi no Uta (Song of the Stars). While JUNNA sang in the lower left corner of the stage, Ami Koshimizu, the voice actress who portrayed Migun, appeared in the upper left corner of the stage. Both of them walked toward the center of the stage, and the "two Miuns" passed each other on the upper and lower sections of the stage, singing in beautiful harmony.
After the song, Kaname Delta Yasuno, Makina Delta Nishida, and Reina Delta Higashiyama appeared on stage. They reminisced about their early days together, and one of the former members, Claire (Yoko Hikasa), was called in as a special guest to perform "Teary-Eyed Explosion Sound" with the four of them! The four members performed "Teary-Eyed Explosion Sound" together. The four members' singing voices as well as their dance moves were in perfect harmony, and the performance was a perfect foundation for the current five members.
The "current five" returned to where they belonged with "Bokura no Senjo (Our Battlefield)," followed by a trolley ride in the next song "Walküre Attack! The voltage of the venue, which was nearing its climax, was further increased. Conversely, the five singers' voices came together frighteningly in the chorus of "Absolute Zero θ Novatic. The harmony of the five members, which was more refined than that of last year's tour, showed the bond between the five members, which had grown even deeper.
The last song of the main event was "If it's only love once". This four-minute song was the culmination of the girls' performance, filled with graceful yet serious dance moves and even more polished vocals.
After the song, the audience called for an encore, to which Borg's voice echoed, "Onore Valkyrie! Borg's voice rang out in response to the encore. However, on this day, the audience was (relatively) honest in their praise of the five members, and Lloyd and Keith continued to talk about their favorite parts of the day's performance! Their light-hearted talk enlivened the audience even more. The Valkyrie members appeared in place of them and performed their new song "Valkyrie Stomarenda". Makina, who shot the hearts of the fans with a finger gun during her solo in the second chorus, was really cute, and Freya, who ran to the front of the stage between the members and jumped as much as she could during the big chorus, was so energetic that it was almost too much.
At this point, each member talked about their current feelings. First, Nishida said, "There were times when I was worried about playing Makina, but the cheers from the audience made me think, 'This is all right. The members have supported me, and I am happy to be in "Macross Delta" and to have everyone love me", she said in a tearful voice. Higashiyama then touched on a variety of topics, including his feelings toward the cast, staff, and fans, as well as the trials and tribulations of coming up with Reina's signature line "Song is love," all of which he summed up carefully by saying, "'Macross Δ' is an asset to my life.
Another tearful comment came from JUNNA, who choked up as she spoke of her strong feelings for Valkyrie, saying, "Just like the lyrics of 'Absolute 5,' if even one person is missing, I think it loses its meaning. Suzuki also looked back on the times when he himself hit a wall and said, "Freya gave me a treasure that will last a lifetime. She went on to thank each member of the group for their support. He then went on to thank each member of the group in detail for their support.
The last performer was Yasuno, the leader of the group. I want to keep on running if I can," he said, regretting the passing of time, "but the live performance that we are able to share now is a live thing. The time we were able to share is only for now, only for us. Thank you for sharing this time with us today.
Then they sang "Ai omoemore desu ka", a classic song in the Macross series, with warm and gentle harmony, and returned to the main stage to perform "Koi! Halation the War" with his usual smile. It was quite chic to end the encore with "Welcome to Walküre world.
However, the audience was eagerly waiting for "that" song that had not been sung. Before I knew it, the audience was chanting "Valkyrie! The audience answered the call with another "Valkyrie! In response to that call, Valkyrie appeared on stage again. They also took revenge for the first pitch ceremony that had to be cancelled due to rain last year by coming down to "Yokohama" in their uniforms.
The much-anticipated song was, of course, "Rungu ga shikkatte kikkatte. The chorus call was of course a big hit, and by the second chorus, all the guests of the day had appeared on stage. At the end, when they all gathered together, Freya Delta Suzuki's jump was outstandingly high, and it seemed as if her rung was shining brightly in real life. At the end, the five of them joined hands and bowed to the audience. Yasuno said, "We will definitely see you again! The big and decultural stage came to an end with Yasuno's words, "We will see you again!
The audience was then able to see the "Macross 35th Anniversary" on the screen of .......
On the screen of the venue, "Macross 35th Anniversary New Project Starts! and "The latest TV anime will be broadcast in 2018! on the screen. Yes, the "Macross" baton is still being passed on. In this ever-expanding world, the Valkyries will never stop.
