Comments from the staff and cast of the anime film "Slaughter Organ" have arrived! Yuichi Nakamura, Takahiro Sakurai and others talk about the highlights of the film.
Comments from the staff and cast have arrived from the anime film "Slaughter Organ" to be released on February 3, 2017.
The animated film "Slaughter Organ" is one of the three works of "Project Itoh", a series of animated feature films based on the original novels "Slaughter Organ" and "Harmony" by Keisuke Ito, a novelist who died prematurely at the age of 34 in 2009, and "Empire of the Corpse" by his close friend, Akutagawa Prize-winning author Tou Enjou, who completed the remaining 30 pages of the preface to the novel. This is one of the works in the "Project Itoh" series. Production was suspended and the release of the film postponed due to the bankruptcy of the production studio, but a new studio, Geno Studio, established by the film's chief producer, Koji Yamamoto, has since taken over production of the film.
⇒ "Slaughterhouse Organ", a noitaminA film, continues production with the aim of completion by the end of 2016! Staff regrouped at "Geno Studio" established by Koji Yamamoto.
Comments from the cast and staff who took the stage at the completion announcement screening held at Odaiba Cinema Mediage on January 28 have now arrived. The comments are very interesting as many things happened before the completion of the film, so please check them out before heading to the theater.

Yuichi Nakamura as Clavis Shepard
──After many twists and turns, we were able to complete the film.
Normally, it takes about six months from the recording to the release of the film, but the recording of "Slaughterhouse Organ" was... in January 2015 (smiles). When I saw the finished film, I honestly wondered, "Was it like this? But on the contrary, it was a very fresh feeling. But on the contrary, I was able to look at my own work with a very fresh feeling.
─ ─ How did you feel when you heard the news of the bankruptcy of the production studio?
Actually, I had thought on my own that the film would not be put in storage. I thought it would be done in some form or another.
About the role of Clavis Shepard
He is the most audience-friendly character, or rather, a representative of "ordinary people. The story develops around him, so I was conscious of how Clavis would react to that. I was conscious of this. How would an ordinary person react to a situation in which what he normally takes for granted is in fact different and questionable? I was conscious of neutrality in my performance.
Takahiro Sakurai as John Paul
─ What did you think when you saw the completed work?
As Nakamura said, I was able to see my own work with a fresh feeling. It was different from the impression I had expected, or rather, I was able to look at it objectively. John Paul is a difficult role, and I tried to record it with a lot of thought. After the bankruptcy and the passage of years, the character was far away from me, but when I finally saw the finished film, I felt like I was close to the character. I feel as if I did it...or didn't do it...it's a strange feeling. I think there are people who will change their outlook on life after encountering this work, just as I did.
─ About John Paul, the man who played the role of John Paul
He is a mysterious bad guy who is pursued by Kravis, who is also called the "King of Slaughter," but when he meets Kravis, there is "something" that is born. In the recording, I wasn't quite sure what the right answer was, so I relied on my own senses, and I think I leaned on the "mysteriousness" of the character of John Paul.
Tetsu Mikami (Williams)
I loved the original work, and although it took some time before the release of the film, "Slaughterhouse" remained in my mind for a long time. Akio Otsuka (Snake) would say, "You made me wait! I am relieved to have completed it. Just when I was told about the recording, I was into "Metal Gear Solid," and when I heard that Keisuke Ito was influenced by "Metal Gear Solid" and had also interacted with Hideo Kojima, I felt more and more like fate, and I definitely wanted to do it.
■Role of Leland: Kaito Ishikawa
I have only lived 23 years, but I had a different impression (upon seeing the completed film) from when I recorded it two years ago. I think that my impression will be different depending on my age, so I hope that you will watch it as many times as you like.
I was nervous at the recording site because of all the seniors. I still remember how nervous I was, and I am very happy that the film will finally be released to the public! There is a shocking scene in the film, and when I saw it in the finished film, I was happy to hear that it turned out this way. I was so happy to see it in the finished film. I can't wait for everyone to see it.
Producer: Koji Yamamoto
The reason why we set up a new studio and continued production was because we had to build up what we could do, and that was all we could do. It was the only way. My life as a producer was at stake. I have already forgotten about half of the hard work that I went through to complete the film. I think we have made a pretty good film. I am confident in the quality of the film! Please see it on the big screen in the theater. Please see it on the big screen in the theater and give us your support!
