Two BD drive models supporting UHD Blu-ray playback are available from Pioneer!

Two internal BD drive models that support Ultra HD Blu-ray playback are now available from Pioneer.

The lineup consists of two models: the high-end model BDR-S11J-X and the standard model BDR-S11J-BK.




The BDR-S11J-X and BDR-S11J-BK models support UHD BD/BD/DVD playback and record/playback on BD discs (single layer: 25GB, double layer: 50GB) and BDXL discs (BD-R XL: triple layer 100GB/ quad layer 128GB, BD-RE XL: triple layer 100GB). The built-in BD drive is characterized by its ability to record and playback BD-XL discs (BD-R XL: 100GB triple layer/ 128GB quad layer, BD-RE XL: 100GB triple layer).

It also features "RealTime PureRead," which reduces the frequency of data interpolation in real time to play back audio CDs with their original sound quality, "PureRead 4+," which re-reads audio CD data when it cannot be read due to dirt or scratches, and a playback quality check for audio CDs to be played back. The BDR-S11J-X is also equipped with functions for enjoying music and video on a PC, such as the "Audio CD Check Function" ( BDR-S11J-X only), which checks the playback quality of an audio CD and displays it in four levels (A-D) and indicates how to deal with a low quality level (C, D).

The main specifications are as follows: main unit size is 148 (W) x 181 (D) x 42.3 (H) mm, weight is 740 g, buffer capacity is 4 MB,maximum BD writing speed is BD-R: 16x, BD-R DL: 14x, BD-R TL: 8x, BD-R QL: 6x, BD-RE/BD-RE DL/BD- RE TL: 2x. Included software includes PowerDVD14 video playback software, PowerProducer 5.5 video editing software, and Power2Go 8 writing software.

The UHD BD playback requires fairly high specifications, and the playback operating environment is as follows: compatible OS: Windows 10; CPU: Intel 7th generation Core i7/i5 series; memory: 6GB or more; motherboard: Intel 200 series chipset model with Intel SGX compatibility, Display: 4K monitor.
