Full orchestra concert of the classic anime "Jungle Emperor" to be held!
A full orchestra concert of "Jungle Emperor," a masterpiece from the dawn of TV animation, is to be held.
Jungle Emperor" is a TV animation based on Osamu Tezuka's manga. The first work was broadcast in 1965 as Japan's first full-length color TV animation. The following year, in 1966, a sequel, "New Jungle Emperor: Go Leo! was broadcast in 1966. In 2009, "JUNGLE TAITEI -Courage will change the future-" was broadcast on TV with director Goro Taniguchi, screenplay by Osamu Suzuki, and character design by Yoshitaka Amano.
The music for "Jungle Emperor" was composed by Isao Tomita, a world-renowned synthesizer artist and composer who passed away in May 2016.
To commemorate the 85th anniversary of Isao Tomita's birth, a full orchestra concert "Anime Symphonic Poem 'Jungle Emperor'" will be performed, fusing images of the third TV animation series produced in 1990 with a live orchestra. In this performance, the story of "Jungle Emperor" will be depicted for approximately one hour with a magnificent orchestration called "TOMITA Sound. The New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra will be in charge of the performance.
