ASUS "ROG XG STATION 2" external case for video cards with illumination function is now available!

ASUS has released the ROG XG STATION 2, an external case for adding a video card to a notebook or small PC.




The ROG XG STATION 2 is an external case with Thunderbolt 3 connection that can be used to install a PCI Express x16 video card.

The video cards that can be installed are AMD Radeon R9/RX400 series or later and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 900 or later, up to 2.5 slot thickness.

It also supports ASUS' Aura LED illumination feature, which allows users to change colors and light emission patterns with dedicated software. Furthermore, if an "Aura Sync" compatible video card from the company is installed, the LED illumination can be synchronized. The front of the main unit is equipped with a plasma tube that discharges red light for a stylish effect.

In addition, by connecting the main unit to a PC with the included USB cable, it is possible to use the four USB 3.0 ports and one Gigabit LAN port on the back of the main unit.

The main specifications are as follows: the main unit measures approximately 158 (W) x 456 (D) x 278 (H) mm, weighs 5.1 kg, has one PCI Express x16 expansion slot, two 6-pin/8-pin auxiliary power supply terminals, and a 600 W power supply (80 PLUS Gold certified). Interfaces include 1 x Gigabit LAN and 4 x USB 3.0 (including 1 x Type-C). Accessories include a Thunderbolt 3 cable, USB 3.0 Type-B to USB 3.0 Ttpe-A cable, and a power cable.
